The relationship between Sam and Frodo was based on the friendship's Tolkien had experienced and seen during the First World War between soldiers serving with one another - a unbelievably close camaraderie and willingness to die for one another, a love closer than siblings but also not sexual. And for anyone who thought Tolkien intended to hint otherwise I'd point to the fact that Sam's interest in Rosie Cotton is established from the outset and maintained to the end of the books.

So there was no Live-action movie until 2001 and Peter Jackson should have started at the beginning of the original order book " The Hobbit," And Unexpected Journey," by J.R.R. Tolkien. Then came The Hobbit," Desolation of Smaug , number 2 movie about Dragon 🐉 and Then came number 3 movie " The Hobbit," " The Battle of the Five Armies ," and Then came number 4 movie " The Lord Of The Rings,": The Fellowship Of The Ring 💍," Then came number 5 movie " The Lord Of the Rings,": The Two Towers," Then came number 6 movie " The Lord Of the Rings," : The Return Of The King," started 2001 through 2015 on regular DVD discs and I can't find Blue-Rays DVD discs and there's tons of behind the scenes and stories lines Director cuts and how to do special effects and lots of bloopers . I didn't buy any of J.R.R. Tolkien's 6 books at book store I only get them books at major State Library to go to Public Jr. Highschool reading classes and sometimes my public schools kindergarten through highschool and college libraries has them and teachers would be borrowing books at public Jr highschool library if they have enough to go around.

D. Ryan Webb Correct. Tolkien intended for The Lord of the Rings to be published as one book, although it is actually divided into six parts called books, so it could be considered a hexalogy. Or because it was intended to be one volume of a two volume collection with The Silmarillion, it could be considered half of a duology.

Literally though. Before LoTR and them winning so many Academy’s, Hollywood looked down on the genre as most fantasy/adventure films were seen as comical and childish and never thought that such a category would ever be seen in the red carpet…and then LOTR was out. There’s good reason why so many people back then said those 3 movies were a HUGE gamble at the time. So much effort and time for a fantasy series that everyone has looking down on at first. The score and production alone was enough to win awards…

As I've gotten older and suffered greater losses and celebrated higher achievements, my appreciation for the concepts that these movies explore has gotten deeper and deeper. The depth of friendship and the value of companionship between Frodo and Sam, the sacrifice and loss of what the others considered a person of immense power and wisdom in Gandalf, and the acceptance of of Boromir's flaws in himself as a reflection of his esteem for Aragorn, and all the other small but so important moments shared among these characters are priceless examples of how great we could be if we only had the courage to try. It feels like Brett and Scheller paid more attention to how current events relate to these films, rather than how these films relate to individuals committed to a common goal. Not saying any of it wrong, but in my opinion, it is deeper than that.
@gregorydamario7977
@gregorydamario7977 2 жыл бұрын
You have to consider that Brett and Scheller are still children. They obviously have little to no experience or context for the grueling effort, the incredible danger, the potential for being horribly murdered by real monsters and the trust and comradery that can develop under those circumstances in what is essentially a military, small unit infiltration operation. I am sorely annoyed at the little girl who laughed at Boromir's death. But like I implied and said, immature children with no context as to what they are watching.
@mortalatlas9501
@mortalatlas9501 2 жыл бұрын
I think the two of us hold similar opinions on the movies and concepts, but I don't think that Brett and Scheller could be classified as children. I think a more accurate way to say it is that they haven't truly considered what it would be like to commit yourself to a set of principles so deeply that living by them is the only way you *can* live. I'm sure there is someone in their lives they could spend time with in order to have a living embodiment of what we're talking about as an example. Brett is young and full of passion, but it seems that she hasn't been tempered by suffering yet. Scheller on the other hand openly admitted that he might shed a tear during ROTK, but not so much here. He knows what happens, so he's kind of glossing over what the characters are experiencing in their own real time like it's less meaningful because it works out in the resolution of the 3rd movie. His stoicism dampens his compassion.

Legolas often mocks and gossips about other characters in elvish not realizing that Frodo is fluent in High Elvish. So, it's one of those awkward relationships where Frodo likes Legolas but is letting him slowly put his foot in his mouth. What makes it funny is that Legolas is a Wood Elf, so his elvish compared to Frodo's is like a redneck talking to the queen of England.
