I really like your series because it shows that if you can sort of break yourself away from all the "Toursty" must-do things, you can visit other places of the world on a rather cheap budget. I mean if you can do say $100-$125 that would get yo ua decent day and a place to sleep in many places. Of course some are way cheaper and your money goes further, but as I think you said in one of your videos, the way some people travel the world and are able to afford it is they do things like this -- they dont necessarily go for all the tourist traps, and by making your own itineraries and walking or buying a bus/train pass, you can really save a lot of money that you can then use to experience the place -- like food, etc, without spending a ton of money. I would say if you did this route, the most expensive thing would probably be getting there (flying).

Free museums are a treat, though they maybe shouldn't be because of the education one can get at museums.. Here in NYC, as you probably know museums are so expensive, though yes on some days or nights you can get free admission, there might be "suggested donations" at the Met, et cetera, but in general, the lack of free museums or low-cost good ones in NYC is not fun, unlike London... :/.. also, the IRN BRU sounds a bit scary, dangerous cough syrup sweetness candy sugar, but drinkable in a way 🤔😅
@danielgrossman52432 жыл бұрын
London is the capital of the UK. The capital of the United States is Washington D.C., which also has a lot of free museums. NYC has a lot of really great museums but many of them are expensive. For travelers that want to see a lot of places, they have deals like the New York Pass. And there are many great museums that have a day every week or month that are free. And even NYC has some museums that are always free like the Museum of the American Indian. And the Met and Museum of Natural History admission fees are "pay as you wish" for New Yorkers (but mandatory for visitors).
@whereisarthur2 жыл бұрын
@@danielgrossman5243 Yeah, DC is a great place for museums, I actually used to live right outside in Northern VA for many years, and the other day I was just in DC and it was great to randomly just go the the NGA East Wing to see some art without worry about admission or anything like that, and they have a terrace one can enjoy, tunnel that connects to the West Wing, just so pleasant to have art that accessible for all, even on a casual day of the week and time, instead of planning ahead for the free day (if available), just would be nice is something like the Guggenheim or Moma or Whitney was free to just go in any time when open, but I hear you, there are spots one can go for free or technically free in NYC, like the Met with the NYC ID, or gems like the Earthroom or Broken Kilometer, but also there are great bets that cost, but not too much and are fully worth it like $10 for the Noguchi museum, the issue is when the cost goes to $25 or $30 or so, just ouch, especially if you want to check out some art and the spaces a museum offers kind of randomly

2:10 "Big Ben" is the nickname of the Great Bell in the Elizabeth Tower. Some people say the bell (and by extension the clock tower) got its nickname from Sir Benjamin Hall, who oversaw its construction. Other people say it was nicknamed after former heavyweight boxing champion Benjamin Caunt. The bell weighs 13.5 tons, and is the second-largest bell in the UK, after 16.75 ton bell in St. Paul's Cathedral.
