I moved to Chicago from Puerto Rico. It was a huge change from me going from warm beautiful beaches to Windy City. Awesome city & i think Chicago has it all. Yea you hear a lot in the news about the crime but if you go to the dangerous areas & it really isn’t as bad as people say in the news. The media likes to scare people a lot. Every city has crazy people. You just gotta be careful & have common sense

Born and Raised in Chicagoland area. Pros: Gorgeous Architecture Museums and Restaurants Galore Highly Cultured Diverse Urban Vibes (fashion, hip hop, etc) Great Food! Pizza and Hot Dogs, Beer Great Sports to do and watch Decent jobs Cons Some People are rude AF especially during nightlife Expensive COLD AF!!! sometimes like -10 in Winter horrible snow and ice and wind Crowded not as much as NYC Crime and homicide has tripled lots of shootings (depending on area) High Taxes Corrupt Politicians Sweet Home Chicago 😀🌃🏙

The north side is beautiful. Reminds me of Philly but cleaner (much cleaner) and the people are so much more chill. Just like you said about NYC. I love the Manhattan area of NYC, but I have to say Chicago is more picturesque. Love Chicago but only the North side and down town.

Nothing beats midwest hospitality! 😊 Chicago is fantastic! I grew up just a couple of hours from there. So beautiful and clean. The only down side is the crime. It's very high.

Haha That's the O'Hare airport for you. They did that to me twice (Delay the flight, and then go back to original departure). Small price to pay for such an awesome city though!

Short video but I appreciate your positive review of Chicago. Chicago does have a similar feel as NYC, when I visited Manhattan it felt very much like Chicago's loop, River North and the Northside. Some areas like GreenwichVillage felt like Wicker Park and Bucktown. Queens felt like the Southside to me and the Bronx was like the West Side of Chicago. There are key differences between the cities and when you add all the other Boroughs; NYC is much larger than Chicago. I didnt visit Brooklyn or Staten Island, I spent most of my time visiting historical sites in Manhattan. New York Street food is unique to New York City and delicious. The history is unmatched by any other city and I think every American should visit NYC at least once, it is in my mind the real Capitol of the U.S. it's Americas largest and most important city. That being said I still prefer Chicago. Mainly because its my home city, I'm a native of Chicago and everything I need is here and the layout of the city makes sense to me. For night life I like to do pub crawls and I like to stay in one neighborhood the entire night. 3rd Avenue midtown really isnt on the same level of Wicker Park when it comes to a pub district. Even Old Town, Lincoln Park and Lakeview have better stretches of pub districts. I like eating Mexican food after drinking all night, in Chicago there are great Mexican restaurants open 24/7 in just about every part of the city. I also like that while our trains seem slower than NYC trains, it's easier to get around due to the smaller size and that we have all transfers in a central location. You guys have Grand Central in Midtown but because your trains stop more frequently and cover more territory it seemed to take longer to get around. The no alleys thing was also a bummer. I was surprised that they pile garbage on the sidewalks the way they do. I always thought they would use dumpsters, I couldn't believe that you would have to navigate around giant piles of garbage. The smell of hot garbage baking in the summer isnt pleasant to those who are not used to it. I found New Yorkers to be friendly but they loved bragging about their city and telling you your city was tiny and insignificant even though they never been there because why would a New Yorker need to go to Chicago!

Bruh you should definitely never swim in the Chicago river no matter how nice it looks. They used to dump leftover meat and blood from the slaughterhouses across the entire city for almost a hundred years not to mention sewage and trash as well. Stick to Lake Michigan

Chicago is beautiful (some parts) but it is full of homeless people, violence and rude people. Taxes are outrageous, public transit is top notch. Don’t move here unless you have a very good paying job, and connections. Housing prices especially for rentals has become a crisis and unaffordable in some areas. Folks finding roommates is very common on the North side Of the City. A 1 bdrm apt can easily run $1200 and up.

I'm from Wisconsin and to us everything in chicago is super expensive. It's probably one of the worst cities in the world. Crime is everywhere. Idiots have guns and don't use them right. The cops are paid off by the mafia. Gangs are everywhere. Big cities in general to me are expensive loud and crap. But chicago is really bad.
