@OH Yeh! of course we have problems as most other major cities do but you have to realize the crime in Chicago is segregated. Where these crimes take place and happen the most at vs. Where you actually are at
@sheneedsyrruup4 жыл бұрын
@@YGGVELL Can you please elaborate more on this, I'm interested in what you are trying to say
@YGGVELL4 жыл бұрын
@@sheneedsyrruup Im saying most of the crimes are in local communities that tourist and most people never visit. One block of Chicago can be flourishing with business and money flow while other parts the only thing you would see over there is low income housing and neighborhood shops. Most the crime that takes places in Chicago happens in places you would probally never visit.

Lived there for 5 years..those winters can be brutal. After being away for three years now though, I'm considering moving back again LOL :P I totally miss the summers/early fall and *the lakefront*. I had a few people tell me to get a car, but I loved living there without one. Oh yeah - compared to Atlanta, I never found Chicago hot or humid. For me, South Loop is where it's at.
@LuisGustoChicago4 жыл бұрын
I feel you on the winters, one thing I try to do is schedule trips to Florida during the season to break up the cold weather routine. Trust me, I know the feeling! When I left after grad school, I constantly felt the tug of Chicago life and within a year and a half started making plans to come back. Yea, honestly a car is just a bonus for road trips or maybe big grocery runs, but otherwise it's pretty easy to move around the city. South Loop is dope, one of my best friends lives there and the new DePaul basketball arena is in the neighborhood. Thanks so much for watching!

Its built different for sure. The grid had to expand in its spacing in order to accommodate alleys into it. The resulting wideness allowed bigger sidewalks. Its built like the surrounding areas with exception of the skyscrapers. Broad flat and wide. The suburbs are built like that too, also very broad and wide. 6 lane roads like ogden golf, or roosevelt, or higgins or randall roads are built for the car. Not so downtown or throughout most of the city which is only 30mph max speed. I was born raised 60630 through the 80s n 90s

Chicago's tallest building is the "Sears Tower," not the Willis Tower. When people say the "Loop" they are probably talking about where they work, but when Chicagoans say Downtown, they mean all the areas near the Sears Tower like Millennium Park, River North, but most likely aren't refering to where they work, but where they will eat, drink, sociallize, tour, etc.
@LuisGustoChicago4 жыл бұрын
Big facts! Lol not looking forward to whatever new name the Hancock Tower is gonna get ... 😐
@wilgoster3 жыл бұрын
Noooo. The loop is a clearly defined area bounded by the EL TRAIN elevated tracks on the west LaSalle St, north Lake Street, east Wabash St., and south some street near Congress, i never learned. Back, way back in the day a seven year old kid could push 3 cents, get on the EL in Austin, ride downtown around the loop and back to Austin w/o getting off the train, about 2 hours of adventure. It cost 11 cents just to get in a movie theater without the fresh air. Livin’ large.

It's beautiful here, but being in my 30s, currently unemployed, completely single with no kids, I just feel like there's nothing and no one for me here anymore. I want a change, and I just don't know how to go about it when it comes to finding a job first. I'm a teacher, but I no longer want to be one, so I don't want to look for teaching jobs. No interview. No drug test. Just pass the quiz. You're your own boss. Work when you want. You can earn $500 a week or more. It's up to you. Then craigslist has shared rooms. Where you can find a place in a house that has a room for rent and you pay a set amount. Tell them your story. A respectable person will understand. If you need any help. I'm here. But take that step. It'll lead you to your destiny. Blessings. Oh and if you decide in wonolo. Use my referral code. We will both get $25 once you complete your first job. Don't forget it because you only get one change to put it in. That's when you are signing up for it. My referral code is ANNTOINETTE1. Many blessings.

I say figure out what kind of jobs you could see yourself doing, find someone with a Chicago address to put on your resume, apply to jobs in Chicago, and save as much money as possible to move to Chicago once you get hired. (See if you can do your interviews via Skype or something like that.) Living on the Northside of Chicago is the best place to start off at if you’re not very familiar with the city.

And if you’re going to be a teacher’s aid you’ll likely need to have a roommate to afford most rent/living expenses in Chicago. Besides having one of the most beautiful city scapes in the world, the lake and parks are beautiful. The city is so diverse, you can meet people of all nationalities and races. The city is made up of little neighborhoods that provide a taste of every culture. It's a city seeped in culture. The music scene is top notch and there are museums of every type here. The zoos are amazing and stores that rival any in the world. We have great (some years) sports teams, with avid fans. The weather can be brutal in winter, but you tend to forget about it when weighed against all the positive things the city has to offer.

thanks for the video man! I'm a college grad who's now working in finance and is ready to move to a bigger city (hometown, Tulsa Oklahoma). Chicago seems like the perfect choice considering it's affordable than my other option (Denver). can't wait to make it out there!

I grew up in Chicago and left in the freshman year of high school. I haven’t been back in a decade. I miss Chi-town.

I think Chicago is the US city most friendly for the working class and here's why. 1. It's relatively affordable for a major city in comparison to coastal cities. 2. There's no need for a car which keeps pple poor (A video from the YT channel 2 cents explains why) and the city is walkable and has decent transit. Sadly I wouldn't be surprised if Chicago ends up becoming one of the most expensive cities in the US on par with Boston, New York and San Francisco.

This gonna sound crazy. I used to live in NY then got moved to the south and I’ve wanted to live in a city again and I tried going to the military but didn’t like living like that but when I was in RTC I hated it but I do want to try checking the city out and consider moving because I need a change.
