Oh my god SO MANY IDIOTS ON THIS THREAD. Look. I make $236,000 a year at age 28 and my IQ is 147 and yet I’m still in great shape. I probably shouldn’t even waste my time explaining to these fools, but I will anyway. Here’s how the science works: When you do cardio only, and no weightlifting, it causes MUSCLE TO WASTE AWAY. And muscle naturally burns calories (both from fat and carbs) while at rest. Also, the process of muscle recovery from anaerobic (weightlifting) burns fat during the recovery process. Science proves that weightlifting along with intense cardio, burns much more fat than simply “cardio” alone. Dieting and cardio alone doesn’t burn fat long term and it’s not as simple as “eating less calories than you burn” because constantly putting yourself in caloric deficit without anabolic muscle growth leads to your body entering starvation mode, storing more fat, feeling tired and lethargic and eventually you crack- and cheat, and eat a ton of food. Then your body stores all that food as fat and you’re even worse off. Now, with that said, that doesn’t mean you should pig out. You should certainly eat in moderation and be healthy. But the key is eating a LOT of the RIGHT foods- the best and simplest example I can say is “follow the TB12/ Tom Brady diet”. Lots of veggies, healthy organic fish and nuts and healthy meat (avoid red meat except occasionally and eat more of the fish), some fruits, lots of vitamins and healthy supplements, a little dairy but keep it to a minimum and focus on supplementing Vit D and calcium, and eat some whole grain organic carbs- beans, lentils, legumes, whole grains, whole grain rice, etc. If you do this, and weightlift, and do intense cardio, and also focus on stretching and pliability like Brady does (lots of stretching, occasional massages, and incorporating functional training to avoid injury) you’ll be in great shape and KEEP THE GOOD BODY. But simply trying to cut calories without eating healthier and without doing weight/resistance training, is a disaster waiting to happen

You've just been inundated by 'fitness gurus' claiming there's a new way to get lean. There isn't and never has been. Eat natural foods and do plenty of exercise. It's that simple and yes it's that hard. But if you're honest about getting healthy then why would you care how hard it is? If you see someone only eating junk food but look amazing then they're taking PED's. The human body hasn't changed a thing and there is no loophole. Sweat, sweat, sweat and then eat right. Give it a couple years and people ask you what you've done differently. You can tell them I stopped listening to fitness gurus and started listening to my body. Eat a salad with some chicken and do a 5 mile walk. See how good you feel afterwards. That's what you're body is craving. Not 'magic pills' and a burger. Jenny Ayala Have you noticed when you see someone doing a long, slow jog on the treadmill in the gym, it’s ALWAYS the fat person? Has it ever occurred to you that the fact they’re only doing slow jogging is WHY they stay fat? In-shape people are doing stretching, strength training, sprints, and faster paced cardio. Slow-paced cardio is what elephants and pigs do in the wild. It makes you fat. It burns muscle and encourages your body to store fat. The science is pretty clear on this

the VShred guy is good looking. That's the only reason why he's successful, since he's got nothing useful to say. Unfortunately that sums up the shallow side of the fitness community. Clearly you're not as easily manipuated as the millions of people who do fall for this BS. Good on you!

I am so glad I found this video, as someone who has been trying to lose weight I'd always be targeted by their ads until I caved in and checked out their website. I was a few steps away from buying one of their programs but thankful I tried to look them up and found this video and a lot of other people calling them out. As someone who was nearly manipulated into buying a program from their targeted and manipulative ads I can agree with EVERY point made in this video. Please don't make the same mistakes as me.

If you’re a beginner pretty much any program could work for you, maybe try the reddit push pull leg program, or other free programs put out on youtube such as the PPL by olympia classic physique champion chris bumstead. Most important thing is to watch your nutrition intake, I find that way harder than the workout part.

I actually remember seeing a bunch of his ads way back when I just started getting into working out. It's kinda unbelievable how accurate the advertisement algorithm has gotten, to the point it can distinguish the beginners from everyone else and drown them in ads.
@samermohamed76443 жыл бұрын
Not hard to do really when a lot of people Google things like "how to start working out" and "workouts for beginners." Remember that KZbin has been owned by Google for a while so every Google search you do is recorded and used to determine what you might want to watch when you get on KZbin. We're literally telling them what we want word for word, there's no real magic in it. The rest is just how confident they are in the fact that we are beginners based on the number of times we do similar searches and how recent our searches were.

The amount of times that I’ve almost fallen into his scheme because of these ads. He had me convinced that I was doing everything wrong, and I just need to listen to him to lose weight
@greyroof31203 жыл бұрын
The ad algorithms are very very accurate. I don't remember when and where but at some point some store built an algorithm so they could target ads better. They got into trouble because they started recommending baby related ads to a 16 year old girl so they had to apologize. A few weeks later the girl's dad came in and told them he is sorry and the girl really is pregnant. The algorithm examined what she was buying and came to a conclusion that her shopping pattern is similar to the pattern of pregnant women. Data is pretty fascinating

You don't need to do cardio to lose fat, it's not very effective for it actually it's mainly for cardiovascular health. You just need to be in a calorie deficit(eating less calories than you burn), eating enough protein, and preferably lifting weights to help hold onto muscle while losing the fat.

There I am in my 40's living in the "adult world", doing my job working 40 hours per week with a bunch of smart guys with years and years of experience in business analytics where we are supposed to crunch data, turn that data into information and put that information in a storyline and use it to take business decisions. And here I see this young guy (Josh) do his homework, collect data, facts, video material, put everything together in this beautifully edited masterpiece. Seriously, you have way better storytelling skills than the bunch of smart guys I work with and myself combined. This video can get you a job. Well done! Hats off!

@@legflip1844 One can be extremely smart, great at math and working with data, but suck at telling stories or even jokes. One can have a talent to turn any boring subject into an entertaining story, but if given a database with 180 million rows they wouldn't know what to do. Everybody has their strengths and weaknesses. But if one masters two or more complementary skills, they stand out. I can definitely see this young guy stands out with way more than two skills here with this video.

Just shows creativity & intellect versus management & institutionalization. Which is why so many companies hate trying to market on social media, most of them can't even connect with the average user unless they abuse the platform's algorithm to force their boomer marketing material on children that will upvote anything they see.
