You give a good range of songs for your test. It really shows what the pedal is capable of. Thanks.

Absolutely great demoing, managed to really scratch beyond the surface of the tonal possibilities of this great little box. Got mine in '97 and it still sits in the center of my board. One thing worth mentioning is that when it's used in a chain before the input of a guitar amp (which is how I've always used it) the pedal can get super loud real quick, I've never even taken the volume knob to 12 o'clock, somewhere between 9 and 11 is usually sufficient. Love this pedal and your demos!

I've had the amp simulator version for about 20 years (looks exactly like this one but without 'classic'). Best stomp box I've ever owned and I've owned a lot of them.. Used in the studio a few times and it did the job there too, but yeh, for jaw dropping thud and scream it's as close to owning a huge rig as you can get without owning a huge rig.. (oh and our bass monkey used it in the studio too and loved it)..

I had mine since 92 and i use like a distortion pedal and over all those years it still my main distortion pedal ; last year my amp stop working on stage, but fortunately i had my sansamp i use it in a clean mode trough the PA system and it works excellent (tis time I play rockabilly).

I've read that this unit has been criticised for its lack of low end. To my ears that comes across in this video. On the Tech-21 website, in the Q&A section they describe the differences between this and GT2. They say that the classic has no eq as it is mostly meant for direct use and therefore eq should be handled on the mixer. Personally I think they should do a "plus" version with an eq section like the GT2 and maybe a couple of other features to make it more versatile (not that it isn't already). Amp modelling pedals and preamps absolutely fascinate me. A while back, before discovering some of the products from Tech-21, Wampler, AMT etc, I bought a Zoom G5 (was torn between a few multi-FX pedals). It's a fun pedal to mess around with but I kind of wish I'd discovered some of these first. I also wish they were in a separate section from other pedals so it's easier to find what's available without having to look through the thousands of other pedals (distortions, boosters, reverbs etc).

This sounds so much more natural and "real" than the British Sans amp character series. I'm impressed. But as usual the "warm fender" sound lacks. I have never found an emulator of any type to do a nice blackface clean with warmth and breakup. Not even the tech 21 "Blonde", although that does tweed nicely

@RafoRamone. Hi. I have the original SansAmp. I guess that makes it a vintage pedal. I've had it since 1991 and I have to say it's a pretty versatile pedal. I've done tons of recording sessions straight through the board, through a computer and yes for years I put the same pedal right in front of an amp in the studio and live situations. As far as the presence knob goes. I know the staff at Tech 21NYC and I know for a fact that every pedal is inspected before they get shipped out. They're a gre

Just got the Tri A.C. in the mail today, i like it for messing with it for a few min. it has a high end thing thats foreign to me. Ill have to hook it into my Presonus studio live 16.0.2 and lowpass it and see if i can nick off the superhigh stuff... Its gotta be better than my $20 Digitech Rp50 tho... | dunlop wah > Nano lpb-1 boost > Custom badass OD > RP50,| thats the signal chain as of now, but the Tri A.C. is hopefully going to replace half of those... we will see tomorrow at the gig.
