Do you ever get to Cooks Peak? Dad got permission in the early 60s to mule deer hunt on that ranch. It had a miners cabin with a wood burning stove! If you go up and over the peak you can see City Of The Rocks! Many good hunting memories there a a pre teen!

Ya mentioned your dogs keeping the boogers away at night, just curious if what you’re calling “boogers” are what we call boogers. The tall hairy bi-pedal ones. I sure could tell ya a story bout them my friend! Take care your Tx fan. p.s. we hunted gila last deer season over on the east side . Lots of elk plenty of bear sign & javelina, we didn’t connect but sure enjoyed it.
