16:37 sure is beautiful, the solitude would be awesome. On a mule or horse I reckon is the way to explore . Not many folk would be doing that, is my way of thinking. Looking back at the view makes me think of the life past and how magnificently beautiful life is, with all its trials and trails . Yup sure is the way to look around Brett , on a mule or a horse. You’ve got it down packed, well and truly sorted. Onwards and upwards. 👍🇦🇺🇺🇸. 17:48 😀👍 old man noises😂 yeah I’ve been making a few of those. 70 next year. 21:00 I’d like to see anything and everything you feel you would like to share Brett, really enjoying looking around through your eyes,

We live in "the Gap" between the big mountains and the little ones you've been before. Even had an Ibex run up our driveway one time last year. Have driven up to the old roofless house many times, most recently to scout out a location to shoot the Comet Atlas in October. Few years ago my "photo bro" and I hiked up to that saddle you didn't have time to reach (fell on my face and dislocated a finger on the way back down). There's a cabin up there, that's free for hunters, called "Pablo's Spot". Found out after I posted pics on Facebook that it's actually owned by the local pet groomer, south of town. Missed the cave/mine on that trip, though. Now, a memory test... I met you in February 2008 out by the Goodsights when I was running jacks with Dutch (I have pictures!) You remember that? There was another truck showed up that day with the biggest Airedales I've ever seen. I'll figure out a way to post some of the shots to you. Great videos! BTW

Absolutely beautiful mountains. That was a great adventure, thank you for taking us along. That house structure still looks livable. I'm actually surprised that people don't fix those things up and live in them. In Tennessee it's hard to even find housing now, so expensive.

Southern New Mexico reminds me of Ft Huachuca in Southern Arizona, we got to train way back in on some of the Reservation lands. We weren't allowed to disturb the land, so no digging fox holes, which was a nice change of pace. I'll tell you what though, a mule would have been really nice compared to humping a ruck sack with a hundred pounds of gear, plus water and food. It's beautiful country but very unforgiving too. (some Marines and special forces trained on Mules so they could use them in places like Afghanistan if they could find someone to rent them out.) One spot I'll never forget close to the Mexico border was a cottonwood grove and there was Quartz everywhere, massive chunks of it all over the place. I'm not one of the hippy dippy types but I can see why these areas get a reputation for being spiritual places, especially after spending a few weeks out there with no vehicles, we didn't even have tents actually, just a poncho and liner. I trained all over America and other countries too, but that place I'll never forget, even though we there less than a month. Sunsets and sunrises where beyond stunning.

The animal you are referring around the 19 minute mark is Oryx. Brought to White Sands Missile Range back in the early 70s. Not a rock climber like mountain goats. They will wander up hill in canyons searching for grasses. They will also eat prickly pear thorns and all. In NM they have two predators besides Chevy, Ford, and Dodge and that is mountain lion and man. Coyotes may take on the very young, very old or injured Oryx. Very tasty as well.
