Guys I'm having a hard time getting to all the comments .. thank you all and I will do better in the future .. for those that asked here is the link to Amazon where I get my sunglasses: amzn.to/3ZuGUWK .. I like that they are round and have some protection on the side ... those slanted glasses I have wore in the past make me look too mean lol

I'm 67 years old and live for my trips out in the back country. Last September I was out on a walk in the mountains as always SOLO. While hiking I got my feet tangled in some large lava rock and fell. I severed my medial meniscus and had a real audacity getting home. I have had surgery and am on the mend now and so ready to get out of my recliner. Looking forward to my next trip. These life events make me really appreciate my adventures. 🤠🇺🇸 Never give up! God bless

Brett, I’m 61 and ride by myself all the time. I would rather be living instead of wondering what might happen. Just know that we are all happy doing what we love. I hunt by myself, ranch by myself, move bulls by myself, haul cattle by myself, and I Love it. We all do our best to take care of ourselves, but KEEP LIVING. Enjoy life while we can, take a friend with you sometime. I wish we could meet up sometime and do a ride, nothing extravagant, but together. I love your videos, I love lion hunting, but I really love riding my mule and being outdoors more. I enjoy the one hour drive to my ranch drinking coffee and looking in my mirrors at my trailer with my Mule in it! Simple things. Your best is good enough for me. Thank you.

I enjoy your honesty, and praying before you eat - nice! I'm 69 and ride for 6 hours twice a week on the trails behind my house in San Diego county. I don't trailer out, but still I have a blast. My mare loves going out and riding her keeps my core and whole body strong. I have bad knees, a pulled rotator cuff, and sciatica too, but riding my APHA mare fixes it all. None of my injuries are from riding. They are all from working outside which I love as I trim a tree, or make a paver stone path. I gotta keep living - 'outside-country-girl' that I am. I have two college degrees and have written 3 novels that I Illustrated. They even won 9 awards. Life is fun even though trouble knocks on all of our doors. God loves us all.

I'm 79 and in the last few years I'm back down to the weight I was when we married in 1965. I didn't go on a diet, I just started eating sensibly. If you quit before you have to, then you're safer but you've let the old man in. And like a song I heard Jerry Reed sing the other day said, "you can quit ... but you're still gonna die." You fill in the blank. Enjoy your channel very much.

71, how I got here, no idea. Poof, here I am, 70. I had a friend who owned and worked a construction business, dump trucks, excavators, plowed town road in the winter. I would meet him at 5 am, dark, where you going Dave? I need to see if I can get the dozer started. He was 93. He worked to 95 and sold out. His wife passed and he passed shortly after. He told me, "don't think old, don't talk old, it's a number, that stuff makes you old" do what you like to do, and forget about age.

G'day Brett well old mate I will turn 75 on the 20th December about 12 months ago I to had to make a switch a roo decision regarding health if I wanted to keep going bush and hunting and trapping alone.I was 97kg nealy 6ft in the following 6months I gave up beer all processed food and no snacking between meals I eat meat vegetables and fruit and a little bread and nuts no dairy foods no sugar. The weight dropped off to 87kg and I feel good within I also do stretches every morning I walk for 20 minutes daily that's not a lot but I find it keeps everything mobile without stressing things out. What ever you do don't stop doing what you love that's the stress relief button that works.ONWARD AND UPWARDS your old Aussie mate Gavin who loves what you do bringing all that wonderful country riding to us all.

I just turned 81 and I am happy I'm still active. AS I've mentined before I've roamed the Southwest and all over the Sierra Madres in Mexico. One of my passions for years was to chase the Cavalry and Apache adventures in SE Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico. I've saw a ton of beautiful country. And, I wouldn't trade my experiences for anything! Yes, I've slowed down a lot. I came up with a new motto... "I've passed my best if used by date, but I'm not at my expiration date..." One thing you lose as you get older is what I call your "edge". Meaning I started thinking about about the "what if's". What if I fall, what if Bonnie breaks a leg, etc. I encourage you to continue doing what you love as long as you can! You can get a "SPOT" tracker with a panic button. You can also get someone to go along with you. I've love to volunteer, but I'd be a liability. One more thing... I've learned that with every zero birthday... 60, 70 80 ten pounds of weight immediately appear on your body! Onward and upward my friend!

People and doctors underestimate how important your attitude and outlook on life is. If you don't consider yourself old, and stay busy doing what you enjoy, that is more important than diet. Keep riding and enjoying your majestic desert, watch where you put your hands and feet, and you will live a long time in good health. Ride Clyde more, please.

Brett, love your channel. I've watched quite a few videos of you and Bonnie and the hounds. I'm about your age and don't move as well as I used to. I had a medical scare a few years ago and gained some weight. I told a good chiropractor a couple of years that I'm stiff and asked what can I do about it. He said, "Keep moving! If you quit moving, you'll just get stiffer." I think that that means don't let the old man in. Be safe and Happy Trails to you. And carry a satellite emergency locator.

Howdy Brett I wanted to encourage you to keep on Trucking with them hounds and mules .I sold some Galvanized Roof panels on Craigslist awhile back .The older guy showed up with his 20 ft Trailer and we commenced to load them .I'm 66 at the time and I asked how many you want to take at a time 2 ,he motioned for 3 and and these way 10 15 lbs apiece ,older ones .And boy did I feel that 3rd one but kept on .I asked him after a while ,how old are you .He replied 85 why .Wow you got me beat .And I've always been able to hold my own .So for me that was very encouraging and gave me hope to continue and not regret old age .That guy didn't look muscular, just normal. So I'd venture to say 20 years from now ,hopefully, we'll meet up on the trail .I'm a rockhound and cherish the outdoors. and am very envious of your life style. So you live it for me and many others .And we wish you the 😊 best of health and happiness for many years to come .A neighbor in AZ Take care of yourself .Happy trails !!!

My mother is 69 years old and is in the best health of her life. She lost over 100 lbs and reversed type 2 diabetes with a healthy diet and exercise. She started in her 50s. Shes doing so well that she now competes in figure body building competitions with ladies my age and wins! She does all of this naturally and is keeping the weight off, she does have a coach, so that helps. What I’m getting at is that you can do it. It’s never too late to start and succeed. I enjoy your channel so much and I am so happy that you felt comfortable enough to share this with us and that you are trying to better your health. We all care about you, love your content and hope to see more for years to come! I have faith in you, Brett. Good luck in your efforts and know I am rooting for your success! The irony of watching your video today after returning from the doctors office. Like you, I turned 63 in August. Lately I’ve been experiencing shortness of breath, headaches, and blurred vision. My blood pressure is high. I had a chest x-ray done today. I’ll find out the results next week. And I got a new prescription inhaler for my asthma which has been out of control lately. When I try to diet and lose weight, I cannot eat the high fiber foods because they tear me up inside. So it’s a challenge. Good luck with your journey and I look forward to your progress. 😉

Brett when I was a lot younger 13-14 yrs old and running a little trap line I would say to my siblings that I was born a hundred years too late. So when I ran across your videos I had to check it out. I've been a fan for quite awhile now and while your western landscape is very different than the northern coast of Maine where I live we are not so different in our love of the outdoors. I've had one knee replacement in 2017 when I retired and I turned sixty nine on Dec. Fourth. I weigh more than I should and should probably exercise more but I feel good and the doctor doesn't give me to much of a hard time. My point in all this is we need to be happy in life and doing what fills our souls will keep you and me and all those like us going . Keep riding and exploring and I'll keep wandering the woods of Maine. Stay well, love your videos. I'm working on losing ten good luck to us both

Brett. I hit 68 in 2020 and after Thanksgiving i was at church and felt funny! I thought i was just hungry! Id had actually had acid reflux for 10 years and was very miserable! I walked into the house and sat down on the couch and it hit me like a ton of bricks! I couldn't catch my breath and my chest hurt so bad! I was able to get up and stagger into the family room where my grandson was when i collapsed! My lower LAD was 99.9 blocked! They put a stint in and sent me home home! I survived the widowmaker! I was around 220 at the time and cut back on my sweet tea and sweets and ate smaller portions of I've gotten down to.190 and holding! While recovering i built a front and back deck and covering over the front deck- porch! My kids and wife blew a gasket a couple times but I told them its my physical therapy to build my strength back up! Keep on doing what makes you happy!!! Im glad I found your channel. I grew up riding and rodeoing and living the cowboy life. But I also wrestled and did many combat sports. My family are long livers. On both sides. The one thing that I noticed that kept them going was having a purpose. Once they didnt have a purpose they went quick. It like a house that isnt lived in. It has no purpose. And it becomes dilapidated quicker than a house lived in. Nature reclaims. And if we arent finding purpose in living, nature claims Is quicker than if we do.

Brett, I turned 62 on Halloween. I feel the same way you do. In my heart I'm sometimes, still a 12 year old but my body has other ideas. 20 years in electrical construction/maintenance and Instrument tech has taken its toll. I moved to Ruisoso after I was forced into retirement by injuries obtained on the job. On top of that, my heart gave out and I had a double bypass two months before we were to move here. What a journey it has been! I concur on the gentleman's statement about being careful on the rocks. Be careful! I enjoy your channel and always look forward to your releases. I don't want to stop seeing them. If you ever get over into the Sacramento's, look me up!

I worked for a mining company in northern Minnesota in the mobile equipment shop with many other mechanics. Very hard on the body, many with health problems. One mechanic at 35 already had both hips replaced and others one in his low 40s knee replacement. Shoulder and back issues causing missed work. Walking and swimming probably the best exercise.

Brett, sorry for your latest loss, of you Sister. I think I also was born at least 100 years too late, maybe more. I so enjoy your videos and your stories. I am 75. I have always led an active life outdoors. I eat too much and I drink too much but I sure enjoy life. I have been blessed beyound measure throughout my life and if the Lord calls me home tonight, I cannot complain. My brain thinks I can do more than my body does, most days. I, like others here, think about your safety when you are out in the boonies doing what you love, alone. It's not that your old, it's that you are in the middle of nowhere with limited communications and accidents happen. Heck, I would be doing the same thing if I could. It would be nice to share a campfire with you sometime, and a drink my Friend. Take care my Friend, looking forward to your next video and story.

I turned 66 yesterday. Like anybody else my age I have my share of physical problems but I do my best to eat right and I stay as physically acrive as I can. I moved out into the desert of Southwest Arizona three years ago. I love this country as much as you do and I get out there every chance I get. When you're young the body is stronger than the mind. At our age, the mind is much stronger than the body. Just like you, my desire to see what's over the next ridgeline keeps me going. I keep slamming the door in the old man's face but, sure as s***t, the b*****d is peeking in the window! I suppose I'll just have to close the curtains! What I like about watching your adventures is you don't push yourself too hard. My dad used to say it's a smart man who knows his limitations and Brett, you sure as Hell are smart enough to know yours! I think you'll be out in the desert for years to come!

Hey Brett! I’m 67 and was starting to struggle getting on my horse due to my weight. So you pick your priorities, eat anything you want and quit riding or lose weight and enjoy riding horseback. So I’ve lost 37lbs and doing better. Gonna lose a few more then try to maintain it. I cut out the sweets and refined sugar. Cut back the portions and drink plenty of water. There’s no big secret to losing weight, just got to quit eating too much! Lol! And stay active. I watch all your videos and enjoy them all. It doesn’t have to be some exotic place or story every time, just in the back country with the dogs and mules. Checking cameras, and talking about what’s on your mind. Good luck on the weight loss and keep at it. Don’t let the old man in!

Hey Bret, Man life is full of up and downs, I remember when I lost both mt Grandfathers. I felt like I was lost. My Father notice this, and came to my aid, he ask me a question or two. Then told me something I will never forget. With the understanding of life, he said everything upon this Planet that live, it will die eventually. After that day I have not slow down at all, I am retired, and I have slow down some, and I am finding out that too is a part of life. May the Good Lord above be with you always. Amen

Brett, I'm a few years older and I can tell you this. Back in 2019, my first year of retirement I got dumped off a 10ft ladder and broke my leg, that was the worst 4mos of my life in the recliner, so if you have a bad fall or roll down a rocky hill and injure yourself that will probly hurt you worse than anything else

I was raised up in the hills of Tennessee there was about ten of us neighbor boys that grew up together in this little community. Rode horses all my life an thoroughly enjoyed every minute. I don't nor can't do the things I used to do nor do I even try to. I'm 65 now an years ago I got conscious of the things that I eat. So I stopped eating any processed foods. Bought me a meat grinder an meat press I make all my hamburger an sausage now. Grow some fresh vegetables every year. I can a lot of these vegetables an it is a world of difference in taste an I can tell that I just feel better. I went back to using pure lard an butter to cook with. Real milk to cook with I don't drink milk good cheeses. It all makes a difference. Hope you have many years Brett doing what you love an I will enjoy many years watching you.

21:24 good morning Brett, I’m 70 next year , still have that gold detector I dream of getting out on detecting trips, sleeping on the ground I find slower getting back on my feet, so a swag on a raised bed I can sit on with my feet on the ground, it’s the living, the doing what we love that keeps the “ old man from getting in “ so keep on doing what you love, don’t give up on living, fight the “old man” with all you have, this life is just preparation for what’s next when we leave it..but I’ll keep on dreaming of our life with the good Lord when we walk together. And I too fight the “old man from getting in” . Love what you do Brett, born 100 years too late is a wonderful title Brett. Keep on keeping on 🇦🇺🇺🇸

Been watching for about the last year, enjoy your channel. You hit the nail on the head with this. I’ve been active my whole life, now 81,but this last summer my legs just don’t go well any more. My fly fishing has taken a down turn.Living in Montana and hiking up and down those rockey banks turns into unbelievable hard work. I’ve started to worry about a hard fall. I’m not going to let my old man in! Keep going if you slow it won’t come back. Be safe ,take your time, think it through. You’ve got a long ways to go👍

Happy belated birthday. I watch your videos with envy, I wish I had the time for adventures. They may not seem to be adventures to you, but for me, you make me feel like I'm there. Love seeing the country, Indian rock art, and hearing the stories/memories. You have a few years on me, I'm 57, but not much. Age is only a number, as my father would say. God bless and I look forward t9 more of your adventures. Michael
