I've been trying to get my kid more into metal. None of the bands were sticking and then one day i turned on "babymetal" and now its all he listens to 😒. I like babymetal but i would have preferred a different band to be played ALL day. Its not as bad as when he discovered the peter pan song "following the leader" though. A straight year of that shit! You can’t force this kind of shit, it’s parenting 101 my guy. The best way to go about it is just to present it to them, leave it and see how things go. Trust me dude, curiosity will get the better of them, they’ll start playing it themselves, might hate it in the beginning but they’ll go back and try some more and boom, they’re into metal. That’s how my friends and I got into metal anyways.

I saw Jim open for Metallica 5 years ago (yeah, a stand-up performance before a thrash metal show). Man he nailed it with his Ozzy and James impressions. If someone told me back in '99 that 19 years later that I'd be seeing the stoned guy from Half Baked open for Metallica, 12 year old me never would have believed it.
