An update to this. Spoke to manufacturer and it SHOULD NOT come out of the portafilter. If it does and your cleaning disk has a hole, then you either need to contact the manufacturer for the correct cleaning disk, that has NO HOLE, or buy one with no hole. The purpose of the cleaning is for the solution to flow backwards into the machine. Hope this helps!

Nope. Cleaning disk should not have a hole. Some machines were shipped with faulty disks. Manufacturer sent me a new one, or just buy one with no hole.

How often do you need to flush your Barista Pro? I just got mine 3 weeks ago, and the Flush message came on this morning. I make on average 2 drinks/day, plus dialing in, probably total 60 drinks since I first started? Wondering if that's too soon. I always run blind shots to warm the portafilter, and I also press the shot buttons to clean the filter / flush the grouphead after use. Wondering if all these "empty" shots are confusing the system...

Yah tbh it's unclear to me to date as well. I read somewhere it's just 100 shots before the warning message, believe it's roughly right but never able to confirm if it's able to exclude the blind shots. Based on your numbers it seems roughly correct as well: (4-6 shots a day * 20 days)

Nonetheless, in my experience the taste starts to degrade a bit after ~50 to 70 real shots. So I'm doing my own rough counting of days before doing one, always no harm to do it more often, but i just would do it every 2 weeks :)

I'm having the same issue. I read somewhere that some of the machines where shipped with a cleaning disk with a hole in it. This hole shouldn't be there because the disk is supposed to block water so it goes through the system into the drip tray

Nope! Your cleaning disk most likely has a hole in the centre. This should not be there. Contact manufacturer or buy a new cleaning disk with NO HOLE. 👍🏼

During the flush cycle my water level is basically the same throughout. I see yours went from max to near empty where i have sone 2 cycles and it went from just above max to I just below it. Should i be concerned?
