Hi Hoon, I just bought a new premium bean and I was getting crazy huge crema but the coffee tasted burnt. I just watched your video again and adjusted my settings like your video and my 2nd shot was perfect. Extraction time and volume was on point but most of all, the shot taste was perfect, no burnt after taste and crema was still incredible!!!!! Thank you!!!!! 🙏

I would like to add the following comment: According to my understanding, getting 32g in 25s means…Under Extraction (the flow is too fast!). In that case you need to set the grinder finger!!! Anyway thank you for the demonstration 🙏🙏

IN manual mode.... you press button again to stop the shot when you have reached the grams you want..... but if machine stops by itself, before you reached the target....? do you then have to program the button to run longer....?

Every espresso machine I’ve owned that had volumetric dosing does the same thing. Every time you change the variables it gives different amounts. Only time any espresso machine gives the same amount is when you keep the variables the same. In my experience.

I hate my barista pro.. I saw all of your video's and couldn't know what exactly happened into my machine. The flow always fast and no crema into it. The taste is watery and sour. I used starbucks dark roast beans. Maybe it is not working with dark roast from starbucks? I tried to adjust the grinder in all of the way and very sad of loosing around 1 kg into just to know how to get the right things? I don't know what to do..maybe I will give the machine more chance with lavazza coffee beans and hopefully this will help me.. but sir I need your experience into if I used lavazza super crema beans.. what setting of grinder should i go for? And the basket shall i keep it with number 6 or may I have to reduce it further? Beside that my milk frother seems to be not working. The milk always without foam and it is same as you heat it in microwave 😔 i think it is my mistake.. I shouldn't upgrage my nespresso machine into this.. I return back and used my nespresso.. it is much easier and lovely taste😔

What's major difference between barista express? Coz iam already have barista express, is it worth it to upgrade? Pre infusion can be programming? Temperature of shot same barista express or more hot 🔥 Also grinder more adjustable than barista express?

Does it make a difference for grind size if using bottomless or the filter that comes with it? new and apologize for the question if the answer is obvious
@chrisbass753
@chrisbass753 2 жыл бұрын
No difference to grind size between the two sizes they both use the same basket. The bottomless portafilter is mainly beneficial for troubleshooting as you can see what’s happening during extraction. The spouted filter that comes with most machines is to prevent the mess that occurs with the use of a bottomless filter.

do you thinks its better to get this than dual boiler/dynamic, for entry level machine. I would be making coffee mostly for my self, mostly expresso or long black, but might also make machiato atleast few times a month, which I mostly got from workplace coffee bar, but since im now working from home, im stuck with a drip(i grind manually). so planning to setup a proper coffee station.

How do you tell how many grams of beans for use? You’re using 20g for a single shot. Every video i watched said 18 grams for double and I assume 9 grams for single. I bought a Barista Pro and having a very hard time figuring out how to dial it in. I bought Starbucks blonde espresso to try it out but every shot i’ve made has come out so awful

Maybe stupid question from beginner here, owner of barista pro : how do you talk about (no) consistency with program but you change SOMETHING every time. Keep the same settings and run 2-3 cups and compare. Initial setup is little tricky, but once you have desired result - found for amount of grinding time, grind size, extraction time, distribution and tamp pressure- I find my barista pro program pretty consistant.

I have a Pro too and my program is inconsistent. I had it set and timed and whenever I would run the program the time was always different. Even resetting it and using the preset program, the timing would be different form shot to shot. I found manual mood easier.

hi hoon, according to sage the portafilter is supposed to be cold when brewing. sage has a higher brewing temperature to compensate that. if you heat up the portafilter the brewing is slightly to hot. there is a video about that from swiss coffee nerds in german kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoauc42MrtKEeNU

@johnwoodruff1878
@johnwoodruff1878 2 жыл бұрын
You always get inconsistencies if you change variables so what you actually said is not true. The variables always have to be the same. Changing the grain size will change the volume of water and that’s what you did. This is a very recent why the metrics are the measurement will be different.
@colouredIncognito
@colouredIncognito 2 жыл бұрын
That's not true though
@johnwoodruff1878
@johnwoodruff1878 2 жыл бұрын
@@colouredIncognito watch what he dose. Hoon said he was using a light roast. Grind size, 13. He doesn’t change the water setting. Then he Press the button to get the free infusion. Then he lets it go once he gets the desired amount which is like 43 g instead of 40. Now the machine is set. He is he does everything exactly the same way he will always get the same amount of coffee and, 43 g , But he doesn’t do that. He changes his grind size to 12, he also changes the water temperature to a high setting up. Change in water setting is not a big deal. What change was his groin size. You cannot change a variable like that when the timer is set in the machine and expect to get the same amount of coffee out of it and. It’s not possible for that to happen. UNF with a lower dose or further yeah you’ll end up with not 43 g but about 32 because the ground size has changed he ended up going more course. What how sad is not true. You really can’t change the variables and expect to be consistent especially when you already have the amount of water set. Just watch it again and you’ll see why I say what I say.

I don’t think you know very much about coffee. Your opinions are totally off. It’s not pro because it doesn’t have a 58mm portafilter!?! Who the hell are you to say that. I have a 58mm lelit and it doesn’t make any better coffee the my pro. And I spent thousands on it. I feel I gel it ripped off. All espresso machines are just coffee machines. Plain and simple.
