Bought my machine a few months. Not sure I would have ever found the cleaning disk without this vid. Thanks.

I really felt the need to say thanks for this video.You were clear and got straight to the point. Very rare in these ‘how to’ videos. Thank you

Be aware you can't promise the water filter will fit as the dual boiler has 2 different filter types. The type you have included is for the older dual boiler. The newer dual boiler like Mine takes the claro Suisse bes008 like the Oracle. And they are not interchangeable.

I bought the genuine tablets today and ran the clean cycle. I had previously tried cleaning it 3 x with vinegar. It just does not do the same job. Running the tablet cleaning cycle makes a huge difference to the taste. It also got all the black stuff out of the group head / portafiller. I recommend using the genuine cleaners - I used natural ones for years and they don't do the same job

FYI they aren’t identical because Breville changed the filter mechanism to be fully self contained.

Question: Is this cleaning cycle cleaning both boilers and systems? The coffee maker and the steam maker? If not is steam maker maintenance free? Thank you for your great help. Much better than a manual for which you need a microscope. Nothing like visual.

Hi, great video. With my machine (Dual Boiler), the water still smells of cleaning chemicals after the clean cycle is finished. Should I pump a few shots of clear water through to flush the system? Or maybe repeat the cleaning cycle with no tablet (just water)? Does yours still smell after the clean?

Thanks for this

Would you have any idea why the machine would start a second 20 minute cycle? It finished the first 20 minute cycle with the descale solution. I pressed the illuminated button and it just displayed 20 again and started another cycle.

My power light just blinks and manual will not light up, says busy if I try to push it after selecting clean from the menu. Someone commented in another video that has the same problem. What to do?
@lucyvanpelt9349 Жыл бұрын
I don't know if you figured it out already but the same thing happened to me. Make sure to wait until the machine reaches the max temperature and then the manual should light up.

Do you have a how to for replacing the water filter as the water filter in this machine is a large plastic thing and isn't clear how to open it.

You replace the whole white plastic piece

Does this machine require any weekly/daily cleaning process that we shoudl be aware of?
@LifestyleLab_ Жыл бұрын
Instructions will be in the manual :) Any espresso machine will require a quick flush of the group head after each brewing session, a biweekly backflush with detergent, and maybe the occasional descaling depending on the water used
@peterwood2633Ай бұрын
Should we turn the water temp up to max? Wonder what temp the.machine is using...
@LifestyleLab_Ай бұрын
Just like dialling in the grind size and brew ratio, this will entirely depend on the coffee you're using! Lighter coffees, generally need the help from higher extraction temperatures. Darker roasted coffees can generally benefit from lower brewing temperatures to take away some of the harsh bitterness. As always, this comes to personal preference!
@peterwood2633Ай бұрын
Sorry I meant for better cleaning not coffee! Anyway I did cycle for first time and just turned it up to 96 C. Normally I use 92 as prefer darker roasts

how about descaling the boilers with unscrewing both the boiler valve screws at the bottom right on the machine? is it redundant?
@LifestyleLab_3 жыл бұрын
Two different processes, both important to maintaining a healthy machine. We have a decaling instruction as well :)

Thx for this! I'm guessing that the entire BDB clean me system includes rinsing? As in, after the CLEAN ME cycle is done, do you need to do another rinse before using or it's all good?

As Zac stated below, my Oracle dual boiler takes a different filter and really hard to find. Also what about the the descale access part?
@LifestyleLab_4 жыл бұрын
I will be posting a second video shortly on the descaling process. Absolutely make sure you are buying the correct version of the filters if your machine is a newer or older generation.

will it say "clean me" after 200 real shots or if I have pressed any of the buttons (manual, 1 cup or 2 cup) 200 times? By asking that I want to make sure that if i brew an espresso and after that clean the group head by pressing the manual button twice, will it detect I have made 2 espressos?
@looipohyi673 жыл бұрын
Same question here. I used the machine around 3 weeks, average 3 shot a day. But now the clean me light blinking, plan to do it today😅
@moviemaster000003 жыл бұрын
@@looipohyi67 yeap it happened to me after 1 month of use. I would have never ever made 200 shots by that time, even 100 sounds a bit over exadurated but hey those tablets are cheap, especially if you don't buy the Breville/Sage ones and find a box with 50 of them. So I wouldn't make that much of a big deal having to use them every month.
@brendan25372 жыл бұрын
I've heard somewhere that it registers a shot if the shot time is greater than 7 seconds. So for shorter rinses you should be ok.
@zuzupost20104 жыл бұрын
Hello lifestyle lab. Do you have any generic filter recommendations for the newer filters for the newer model?

It should link directly to Cafiza brand tablets. If its going to a general list, that exact item is probably just not available in your region :)

This video is only 1/2 the job. You have only backwashed the group head. You still need to descale the boilers (both of them)
@LifestyleLab_3 жыл бұрын
A backflush of the group head is completely independent from descaling, and should be done on a more regular interval. We also have a video on the Dual Boiler descaling process :)
