I've had mine for years & I am really happy with it for the most part. It's extremely well made, sturdy & long lasting obviously. However, I use auto set to make a pot of coffee for the morning & I use coffee that I've preground in the breville grinder before setting up coffee the night before - because the grinder on the coffee maker is SO loud & wakes everyone in the house & causes my dog to bark. Due to the fact that I don't use the grinder, I also avoid most of this detailed cleaning & if it took me this long to clean a coffee maker in the morning - I'd probably opt for another coffee machine. Honestly though, I actually bought the delonghi true brew - thinking I'd prefer a machine that has more options...but omg, it was a complete pain to clean, was cheaply made & the pot made 1/2 the coffee the breville does - at almost twice the cost. I appreciated this review & the tips - j.i.c i decide to use the grinder though. 😊

Nice video, thanks for sharing. I have this machine, and my daily routine takes 30 extra seconds to clean vs a traditional coffee maker. On the other hand, I don’t have to grind my beans in a different grinder, wait for them, transfer them, etc… So time wise it’s pretty much a wash.

That's correct

Thanks for this. I've seen many complaints about the daily cleaning requirements on Amazon.

It only takes a few minutes, he is doing a video so everything is slow... remember to use filtered/Brita water to protect the heating elements good and descaling is less an issue.. and it comes with a nice permanent filter... but if you use paper, use unbleached paper(brown).

Thanks for the video. What is the little compartment that has a rectangular, vertical door that you open from top and it swings down, and there's a hole inside of it? There's a good shot of it at min. 5:44.
@AjusCafe2 жыл бұрын
What you see at 5:44 is where coffee gets dripped into your cup. The machine pushes the outlet which is spring loaded to extract coffee.

@@AjusCafe I'm aware of what the ground/drip basket is, I was referring to the little upright rectangular door on the side that swing down and there's a hole/slot inside.

@@n.g.1577 5.44 in video doesn't show that. Can you please tell me the exact second in the video were i show that. Thanks

@@AjusCafe 4:52 shows a nice shot of it to the left of the basket. Also, 5:14 shows it (in the middle of the screen) while he's turning the basket around. On 6:10 the thumb is almost on top of it.

@N.G. Oh I see.. that door is for excess water or steam to escape through a little opening in the basket (top). And whatever goes through it (rarely), will get collected into that little drip tray just below the silver disk. And you can open that door to clean it's path.

I cannot get my knobs to scroll. They seem to be stuck. Is there a hard reboot I can do? Thanks!

Are you talking about the grider control knob?. If that's stuck,try again when the Grinder is running

Help! I am at wit's end on my Breville. Every time I use the machine to brew, it just collect water and coffee grind inside the hopper. It did not drain the coffee into my coffee mug! When I descaled it, the water was drained normally out of the hopper. I just don't understand why the coffee just wont drain out of the hopper when I brew my coffee? Any ideas guys?
@franksmartin1 Жыл бұрын
You need to clean the chute, the most important cleaning step which is not in this video! Unlock the bean hopper, the disk will turn so the hole is on the top and then clean it out.

I purchased this machine June 2023 and within 6 mos, I had to ship it to the support center and it was replaced. The current replacement does not complete the brew cycle. I’ve followed all maintenance and descaling instructions. Customer support requests that the machine be sent in. I refused because I do not want another machine. I have a nearly $400 piece of crap!

I've got one, I am using it since 3 months. However, I am selling it because it needs a lot of maintenance everytime it's used. The quality of coffee is not worth it. I'll be better with an espresso machine.
@AjusCafe2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback. Yes there is daily maintenance on all coffee machines. Not sure what do you mean by quality of coffee. It depends on the beans, grind size etc. This coffee taste different from espresso. Its all to do with the taste you like.
