Thank you for your detailed videos. I feel like such a fool, lol. I just got this coffee maker a week ago so its still trial and error. I was trying to brew a single cup for the first time this morning. Stupid me didn't think it was already set on carafe mode. I thought all I had to do was turn it down to 1 or 2 cups. I could hear it infusing and brewing but nothing would come out. I finally gave up and put the carafe under it and it started brewing. I went to your videos because I remembered yours was the most detailed and seen I had to change it to single serve. I felt like an idiot. Tomorrow I'll finally do it right. I'm one of those that hates reading instructions because they're usually more confusing, lol.

I just bought this Breville Grind Control after watching your videos as it has every feature that I was looking for. One quick question if I may ask, if I fill the hopper with beans to make 12 cups but only want to brew 2 cups or anything less than 12, would the maker only grind and brew appropriate portion of the beans out of the hopper or everything in the hopper?

Very good! watched this AFTER I had bought the machine. And as you noted - pouring coffee from this into a cup is an act of balance and strange angles, and of having a paper towel to wipe the counter after that....

Cool video, and cleverly-designed machine! The main benefit seems to be the fun you have messing around with a clever gadget. I'm not sure it makes sense if all you want is good coffee, simply made, especially if you factor in the maintenance and cleaning time. With a decent grinder, some whole beans and a filter stand, you can extract world-class coffee with almost no equipment and very little cleanup / maintenance. I do like Breville machines, though, I've had lots of 'em in the past. Reliable, good-looking, durable--hard to go wrong with the brand. Thanks for a great review!

We just received our new Breville coffee grinder machine, the problem is, how many ounces equal one coffee cup, we have 8 ounces cup but if we make 2 cups, the result is near to fill one 8 oz cup, I try to make 3 cups, then I get one 8oz and about half of another cup! I reinitialized the machine and the result is the same. But if I make one cup pre-ground, I get a really 8oz cup! Is something wrong I do?

I have this coffee maker and the dials stopped working after a year. For example you turn the knob to adjust number of cups and the number starts at 12 and decreases, regardless of which way you turn it. You can't increase the number with the knob. So I have to unplug it to reset it to 12 cups, and then I can decrease the number. I have a cuisinart toaser oven with the same kind of knobs and those stopped working as well. SO I won't buy any device that has a digital display that is adjusted by turning a knob. Push buttons are better, or the old fashioned mechanical knobs.

yes, just add a little more ground coffee and brew a small quanity then the ice will melt and give you a great tasting coffee.

Breville is a lot more work, but it makes a large pot of coffee, if you don't need the pot of coffee then I would use the True Brew

You should be able to a paper filter, I think, as long as it does not move when the coffee is being ground and shot into the filter basket.

My recommendation, do not buy it, I returned mine. 1. too much coffee (even after the recalibration - which I did many times) 2. too coarse 3. it requires a lot of maintenance for the machine to work 4. The carafe is one of the worst designs I've ever seen in my life, 5. Overall for the amount of money this machine costs, it is really better to grind your own coffee and use a regular coffee machine. I am still figuring things out.

It’s a great coffee maker, until it isn’t. I bought my first one back in 2015. A little after my warranty expired it quit on me. The customer service representative tried troubleshooting but no avail. She sent another machine to me at a discounted price. I didn’t mind paying, thinking that the malfunction was rare so I bought another one. This morning (07/09/2024) the machine mysteriously stopped brewing. The very helpful representative did all she could, but Breville wanted me to pay for a part that this non-mechanically inclined person was disinclined to do in order to fix a problem that they weren’t sure would be the solution. This is my second fail with this machine. I sent my brother this machine in 2018, and it failed in 2020. He smartly went with another manufacturer and is happy. His experience was my third fail with this machine. This machine is very high maintenance. The machine is fun while it lasts, but it doesn’t last long. I am moving on from Breville to another manufacturer. I am on my second Breville toaster oven as it too failed after a few short years of service. The new one is going on two years, and when it fails it will become my 4th product fail with this company whom I really want to like. I’ll regretfully be swearing off all things Breville. I hate to be negative, but I feel compelled to warn prospective buyers of what my real life experience has been with this manufacturer. I wish I’d known.
