This video is better than Sage's official KZbin video for this model. A lot more detailed.

Hey Just A Dad, thank you so much for doing this review as I find this review to be the most helpful so far. What exactly did it for me was that you actually put the thermometer inside the coffee so it isn't subjective. I was so hesitatnt to buy it because some other reviewer said the coffee wasn't hot enough and I HATE my coffee lukewarm. I need it to burn my lips type of hot so I can only sip it. But from your temperature testing, I know exactly what to expect. That temperature testing was awesome. Keep it up !

I have had mine for a few weeks and the coffee is not hot enough. I just ordered a thermometer to test it out. I too read all of the reviews so I am wondering if there are bad machines out there now.

Microwave your coffee ( cup ) for 30 seconds

@@nhr27 . Hey, I just got one and although it isn't that hottest coffee around, it's still hot enough. Microwaving your coffee is bad advise. Coffee just doesn't taste the same when microwave, taste gross. However, what I did was that I microwaved my milk or half and half so that it doesn't bring down the temperature of my coffee. Also, make sure you fill the coffee pot with hot water PRIOR to use, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes then discard the water. This will make the coffee pitcher hot so it doesn't cool down the coffee. Lastly, try to use warm water instead of cold water to brew your coffee. Also, make sure you set the temperature to 208 (max allowable) by using the "my brew" option. Try all that and your coffee should just fine.

I solved my problem! The problem is the carafe. Like a Yeti, it holds temperatures. I was filling up the tank using my carafe. The water I was using was straight out of the refrigerator so the carafe walls became cold! Now, before I brew some coffee I run hot water in the carafe and let it sit while I fill up the tank with water. I was so happy to have HOT coffee!

Wow I am so mind blown. I have own my machine for 2 years and never know why 2 baskets were used for I have always used the cone filter one for a pot of coffee. Bought mine off market place for 125.00. Excellent condition is it. Never knew you could just make a cup of coffee by its self have always used a pour over. Thank you so much for this detailed well explained video.

Don't know if anyone has mentioned already but as far as the noise from the vibration pump, I just put a silicone mat under coffee maker and it reduced almost 70% of the noise. Awesome review and fantastic machine.

I bought two compound rubber pads from my local hardware store and put them under the brewer-the vibration almost completely disappeared.

I finally got this machine, european "Sage" brand (same machine) Made one brew and so far it's great. Simple, easy, elegant I wish I could watch the water drip on the coffee, just to check, but it works

Great video, however you should pre-heat your coffee mug prior to brewing a single cup as well as from the carafe. this will ensure proper flavor as it is hotter. Also wet your filter prior to use.

Great video. I have this coffee maker. The coffee is great but the Carafe lid is horrible. I’ve had to replace it after about 6 months and had to order from the manufacturer so I had to wait on their shipping. Also, it is insanely difficult to clean that lid. Water gets inside and it has to drip out slowly. I have to shake it for about 1-2 minutes to get all the water out that accumulates in the lid. I’ve sat it on the counter without all the water coming out and it continues to leak onto the counter. Guess what color the water is when it leaks out? Brown. It’s so hard to clean and flush it out completely. Also, the interior wall, where the plastic meets the metal is sharp and I’ve cut my hand cleaning it. Terrible design but great coffee. If I could find a great 12 cup that has all these features, I’d replace this one fast.

You mentioned that the coffee scoop is one tablespoon, but the booklet refers to 8 scoops as 66 grams of coffee. One tablespoon of coffee is approx. 5 grams or 5.3 grams, which would be either 40 grams of coffee or 42.4 grams of coffee. Personally, I find the brew ratios many of these coffee machine instruction recommend is way too strong for me. Such as 1/15 up to 1/18. For me no more than 10 grams per 8 ounces water or as low as one tablespoon (5 grams) per 6 ounces water which equals a 1/34 ratio. 8 O'clock coffee recommends 1-2 tablespoons of coffee per 12 ounces of water. What are your preferences and or suggestions? Love your video. Very informative. Thank you.

What about the water remaining? Do you need to stick a paper towel down in there to get it dried ? Warranty and company support? Reviews?

I agree with a previous comment-1 scoop (tablespoon) per cup is much too strong I do 1 scoop every 2 cups / 10 cups I’d do 5 scoops

There was not enough reviewing of how each method of coffee making tasted. It just went on and on, with no coffee DRINKING. Literally the only thing I care about is how the coffee tastes.

Generally speaking, I like Just-a-Dad’s reviews and presentations. However, this time, I feel he has not given the KZbin followers the best advice. In my mind, the Breville Coffeemaker appears to be a worthy machine to give anyone who owns it a high-quality cup of coffee. So why would he ruin the presentation by using pre-ground coffee, a scoop to measure and worse than these two, not using whole beans and naturally weighing the coffee on a coffee scale. If you are going to spend over $325.00 for a coffeemaker, then why not make the best cup of coffee possible? I don’t get it!
