It was the Yoriichi training doll the swordsmith's made and muchiro and tanijiro trained against before upper 4 and 5 showed up. The swordsmith had to make the doll have 6 arms to match actual Yoriichi's speed/power.

The Yoriichi with six arms was Yoriichi type zero. Muichiro and mainly Tanjiro trained with it before Gyokko (upper 5) and Hantengu (upper 4) appeared and destroyed the swordsmith's village.

When I first saw Muzan and Demon Tanjiro's health bars, I almost shit my pants. Luckily Tanjiro is way easier and has a drop (I've killed Muzan 3 times and he still hasn't dropped anything)

The yoriichi is a dummy which was made during the sengoku era pretty sure. Muichiro used it to train when they were in the weaponsmith village. It also had the an sword inside him which tanjiro uses in the fight against upper rank 4 and the final fight.

Yoriichi Type Zero ( 緑 より 壱 いち 零 ぜろ 式 しき , Yoriichi Reishiki?) is a Battle Doll constructed by Kotetsu's ancestors during the Sengoku Era and i think they remade it not entirely sure but muchiro and tanijiro trained against it before upper 4 and 5 showed up so yeah

the mob that looks like yoriichi is a training dummy that was based off of yoriichi himself and yoriichi was so strong that the creator had to give the dummy 6 arms to "match" yoriichis power. muichiro trained against it as well

explanation for the six handed yoriichi: (some spoilers ahead) no tests not yoriichi, thats a doll replica that the swordsmith village people made so that swordsmen could train. the reason it has six arms is because his moves were so hard to replicat that they had to give the doll extra arms to try and imitate his strength.
