Thanks for the info on LED's. I'm sold on the idea as I'm a new 1st pinball owner as of May this year and my machine in 39 years old. I want to preserve it by using LED's...makes sense.

Exactly what I needed thank you! Hopefully by now, 2years later, you've realized you put your 5-55 in backwards in this video!

Very cool. I was apprehensive about doing the conversion on my Dr. Dude, but I think I'll be giving it a try.

Great information in this video!!. Last month of May, I bought a 1980 Hankin The Empire strikes back pinball machine. I've been told LED's would look bad on a classic vintage...but I think it would enhance the backglass and playfield for this particular machine...what do you think?.

Thank you, will convert my PIN*BOT. You didn't think we should notice that you reinserted the LED the the wrong way did you :-D

Hi, I bought your LEDS to retrofit a 1976 Gottlieb machine and they look great. But a question has come up - Several of my player field inserts are currently lit by a 47 bulb laying on its side. That is to say, the bulb is flat to the play field, not point it it from on end, as is the case elsewhere. When a LED is installed in this manner, the play field insert is quite dim. What do you recommend for a 47 bulb where the socket is flat to the field , not up on end? Another way of saying this is the socket is laying horizontal to the field, not perpendicular to it. Thanks Also for backboard ball count and other scenic elements, the 47 bulb is perfendicular to the object in the glass. It is mounted in a wood light support board that has been drilled out or routed out in this area. The 47 bulb was quite bright illuminating the complete socket cavity, but now I need a LED that also lights this cavity and throws enough light at the backboard object to give it proper brilliance. The machine for reference, is Gottlieb's Ship A'Hoy. Thanks.Bob

Hi Bob. Comet Pinball makes bulbs with a flex end that may be beneficial for your needs. Take a look at their website

Game: Black Hole LEDs seem to have too wide a cap to fit in playfield GI location. Instal by taking the socked out & insert from underneath? Also, how do you get the stubby super brights out if they are flush with the playfield? Great video

I know what you are talking about. Which LEDs did you order? Email Comet Pinball and see what they recommend.

+BrewersArcade I am mixed about using LED on a machine. If it's a modern table, (one made in the 90s and later) then LEDs could be used. Classic tables shouldn't be used because of the value of the table. I would research the table I am fitting before I actually do it. If it doesn't affect the value of the table, then go for it. I would love to know what you think of this.

These days LEDs work in all applications. The retro style LEDs look great in EMs. The fact that LEDs prevent continued warping/fading of plastics and inserts is a huge factor in their advantage over incandescent bulbs. Plus, less power consumption.
@CaptNRetro5 жыл бұрын
absolutely go LED..in all machines..will not hurt the value..will only help save the game.

So you don't have to do anything else..I've heard of an OCD board...also heard the first and or last bulb in a chain may not light..true or just rumors...any machine you can just pop out the old and put in LEDs...???!!!...Thank you.....Joey
@pinballbulbs97209 жыл бұрын
Joey Q Ryan That's correct. You may run into issues and need a new "LED BOARD" for older 1980's bally games. All else you can pretty much plug n play.

Hi do you know if replacement of leds under playfield from Tales From the Crypt is also easy? I mean, just as get up the playfield and turn off
@BrewersArcade4 жыл бұрын
Yup should be pretty straight forward from underneath the playfield. Just make sure where you need 44 bulbs or 555 twist bulbs. Some will be easier to get to than others but just take your time!

@@fecalantimatter5231 Easy to get a shock moving your hands around under the playfield. You might short something out too.
