Id like to do the same honestly. Just waiting for brewtools to release a horizontal stand so they can (hopefully) be stacked too.

Great video mate. Only thing I am thinking here is how to dry hop?
@MasteringHomebrew Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Well, if I was dry hopping something in this, I would probably add a hop drop set up on top from the start. I can piece together one from my 2 inch stuff that I have on hand already but it requires a top with a 4” to 2” adapter. I have been using the one from my steam condenser set up. You kind of lose functionality in some ways though. You could also just do it the old-school way and open it up for a second dump the Hops in and then purge. They also have the absurd Y piece too.

Where do you get the black cans?

I buy them 200 at a time from olbrygging.no but they also sell them by the case at brewshop.no. I like the olbrygging ones more since they are Ball branded cans and just a tad cheaper.

Looks really nice! If I wanted to purge a cornelius keg with the co2 from the fermentation would this be possible with this setup? To be able to do a closed transfer free from oxygen.

First off, awesome videos. It's appreciated. Second, a few questions if you don't mind. 1- what is the outside diameter of the stand? I'm trying to figure out how many I can fit in my upright cooler. 2- I noticed you added a single can Duofiller. Any reason behind this vs having just the two head Duofiller? Thanks in advance!
@MasteringHomebrew Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I believe the stand is 30cm across at the base. I won that mono filler but i do use it was more than the duofiller. It has a faster filling speed than my gen 1 duo so it gives me a bit better work flow over all

Thanks for the review! I'm curious - what would be the main benefits of brewtools' unitank lineup that you would not get with this thing? Given the TC, Imagine you can hook up more or less anything to it
@MasteringHomebrew Жыл бұрын
I would say the ports for things like temperature probes, heating element, blow off cane, welded on legs and the glycol jacket are the biggest things. There is a definitely a big difference in the two when it comes to work flow. Dry hopping under pressure without opening the mini is not possible (for example). As it is dumping trub not possible either. Also i hate the floating dip tube.
@kristian3472 Жыл бұрын
@@MasteringHomebrew thanks for the honest thoughts! Regarding dumping trub; wouldn't this be possible if you hung the tank on the wall and attached a valve to the bottom tc port? Maybe a potential product from brewtools could be a taller stand where you can actually access the bottom port..
@MasteringHomebrew Жыл бұрын
@@kristian3472 yep! I will be doing this soon. They are actually doing just that. Brewtools have released some drawings already of upcoming extras that will achieve everything people desire. The flexibility of the tank is really nice in my opinion. Im hoping for horizontal stacking options to maybe be used as serving tanks.

Hello there, I'm thinking about purchasing the MiniUni 50 myself and I'd like to ask you a couple of questions as you are the BrewTools sort of "ambassador" here on YT. 1) Is it possible to ferment let's say an ale with that spunding valve kit attached on from the start, set the valve at 0 pressure and then set the pressure to say 8-10psi on day 2-3? Can I do this without anything or do I need to connect a hose on the gas in and dip the other end to a glass filled with a sanitation solution for those first 2-3 days? Then I would disconnect it, set the pressure and just let it ferment under pressure. 2) Is the hose that comes in the packaging actually cut so that it fits the fermentor at the level that you exactly need it to be? Or if not are there any instructions on how much cm to cut from it so it is a perfect length for the size of the fermentor that you are using? Thank you so much. Cheers!
@MasteringHomebrew Жыл бұрын
1) you could do that although i have not tried yet. You would have to kind of guess how many turns and then back off the pressure once it builds in the tank over time. You could also set it with a co2 tank then vent the head space with the prv and let it build up naturally. 2) im not sure but i didnt cut mine. Im definitely switching to a metal dip tube as soon as it becomes available though.

How is it to move or handle the fermenter? Was thinking to get the big one and the lack of handles is scaring me
@MasteringHomebrew Жыл бұрын
Its not too bad for short distances. Lifting by the “collar” under the top TC works fine. I saw a design for future handles lifting it this way. Looks promising. You can set it down on the bottom port and it balances fine if you need to grab the base and move it. I did that several times. I also was able to grip it well enough to get it up on a table. I wouldnt call lack of handles a deal breaker for me though. The F series tanks i have dont have handles. I hope ti maybe add some casters though.
