→ Wake up politicians. Britain doesn’t want #Brexit.
𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗫𝗜𝗧: 𝗜𝗧'𝗦 𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗗𝗨𝗧𝗬 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗞 𝗨𝗣 - 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟭-𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼
The main parties won’t talk about Brexit during the general election, so it’s up to us. It’s our duty to speak up and break the silence by our political leaders.
Going ahead with Brexit, with the support of a mere 37% of the electorate and with half the nations of the UK voting strongly against it, was an abomination.
In other democracies with more experience of running referendums properly, Brexit could never have proceeded based on such minority support.
There are NO benefits to Brexit; none whatsoever. Only severe downsides, that are hurting Britain now and will increasingly hurt us in the years ahead.
We need our politicians to offer us a democratic route out of Brexit, not an undemocratic road deeper into it. But neither Labour nor the Tories will even discuss Brexit.
If the two main parties cannot be honest with us about the reality of Brexit, then we, the people, must be honest with the country and with ourselves.
It is our duty to speak up.
Brexit is a disaster that CAN be reversed with democratic consent from the electorate to apply to join the EU again or at least its Single Market.
A general election is just the right time to ask voters about Brexit, eight years after the referendum.
Of course, it would be up to the EU to decide whether our application was accepted, but the first move must come from us.
We cannot let Britain slide further away from our friends, allies, and family on the mainland of our continent without speaking up so clearly that prospective MPs are in no doubt that most of the country opposes Brexit, as confirmed by multiple opinion polls.

If you are a patriot, if you agree that Brexit presents huge dangers for our country, if you can see that Brexit is not an Act of God but a dereliction of duty by rogue politicians, then you must speak up.

Thank you Jon .True and let's never forget many British taxpayers and passport holders were "undemocratically" "excluded . Let's recall the famous words "Taxation without representation is a tyranny " To this day I pay tax to Britain but have no right to vote there ..

Why do you not have the right to vote in the Uk. If you were born in the Uk then you are british. Are you not entitled to a postal vote. Strange how the Uk seems hostile to some of it's own citizens.

We had a democratic election, which was fair according to democracy, so please, please please get over it! It’s was the right decision to be rich, independent, strong, English for England.

For the avoidance of doubt, I welcome divergent views and cherish good debate. But those who come to my KZbin channel (yes, it is my KZbin channel) to post personal or rude attacks, against me or other contributors, or who want to use my channel to post misinformation, will be blocked if I see those comments (unfortunately, it’s impossible for me to read all the comments here, as there are thousands of them, but I do read some of them). I cannot offer a platform to those who don’t know how to debate respectfully, or who want to bombard my Channel with statements purporting to be factual that are patently untrue (i.e. that the EU accounts are never signed off, or that the EU is corrupt or undemocratic, etc). Those posting defamatory allegations that I am lying, without providing any specific and justifiable foundation, will also be removed. (Conversely, if anyone points out a verifiable inaccuracy in my reports, they will be thanked and I will make a correction, but just to make a blanket accusation against me that I am lying is not acceptable and could be actionable.) Further, anyone who comes to my Channel telling me that I must stop what I am doing, move on, give up, etc, will be blocked. Some say that’s undemocratic. But whilst I 100% support democratic governance, I am not a democracy. Nobody voted for me to do what I do, and nobody can tell me to stop. That’s up to me.

Hello Jon. The EU describes itself as “a unique economic and political union,” could you explain what they mean by that term and what kind of organisation the EU is aspiring to become?
