@@michaelmay5453 Ever since the fall of the UDSSR, neoliberalism and the right have been in a circle jerk. Here in germany AfD is just the last itteration of fringe right wing bullshitery. There was a saying "there should no be any party right of the " CSU/CDU being the conservativ christian parties here and that saying implying that they include all those in their party and handle them. Which led to another saying "the state is blind on its right eye" implying that fascists aka neonazis aka republican party(former german fringe right wing party (maybe) not to be mistaken with the US party of the same name, that suddenly vanished when the AfD showed up) aka AfD. Ofcause with that win of capitalism over communism the left here in germany bent over like woman in heat and invited neoliberalism .. f*** you Schröder. Anyways, you think you have the most extrem fascists ^^ ... dude fascism never really left germany after WWII. Sure its not as bad as back then and i would claim overall we evolved *a little*, but when leaving the cities and going into the country side here in Bavaria ... or Sachsen or Thüringen. We called it Dark Germany at times jokingly in the past, but just the other day a party member of the SPD was attacked by freakin 17 year old fascist prick who cant think straight yet but i guess already believes anything he reads on extremest websites. I am not completly up to date with british politics all the time and i got that many have buyers regrets where it comes to brexit, not so much because they suddenly became tollerant all of a sudden, not anylonger believing in the demagogury who took all your jobs from eastern europe, but instead thinking that Tories did not fullfill the promises as immigrants still are streaming into the nation. That at least is the gist of what i am getting from your news and some private channels. Personally i thought it was a shame if not shamefull, that britain left the EU, which was ment to gurantee peace in europe as it was founded with that in mind in the Steal and Coal Union after WWII. I also wouldn't mind you guys coming back into the EU as your voice, if sometimes of the same mind at least brought differances to the table one needed to fight over and in that i see the strength of democracy. Not that we all have the same opinion all the time, but that we struggle and find compromises we then can live with. What you call abject bullshit, i see a way of closing devisions that otherways are unpassable and become poison for some minds. The right as i would define it for most nations usually is about tradition and keeping certain values and principles alife. Those are the once i can and want to talk to/with. The shitheads that are racist pricks, causing defision in a nation and try to find scapegoats and make politics due to spreading fear, those shitsheads can die in a fire for all i care.

Consider these regulatory barriers as a wall built around the single market, a wall which the UK helped to design and build. Then the UK voted to leave and walked out through the gate which was locked and bolted behind them. The brexiters then turn around and say "What the hell's this? Where did this wall come from? I don't remember this being here, is it new? "

I don't know whether to laugh or cry when listening to these eejits. If they had done any homework prior to the brexit referendum they would have learned that there - - are massive customs and SPS inspection facilities at the EU's borders with third countries and to a lesser extent between the EU and EFTA member states as they are in (e.g. Norway) or have access to (i.e. Switzerland) the single market with exceptions, - were customs posts at the borders of EEC member states until 23:00 GMT 31 December 1992 when the EU single market came into effect, and - was a SPS border between GB and NI for the previous 15 years with inspections on second hand farm machinery for soil, livestock and agri-products as the Island of Ireland had become a single SPS zone. The import controls concerning imports from the EU coming into effect from the end of April (and which should have been in place since January 2021) are being put in place to ensure that - - GB is protected from animal and plant diseases, and - the UK is compliant with WTO most favoured nation rules by extending controls on imports from the EU that are already in place in respect of imports from the rest of the world. Furthermore it doesn't say much for the calibre of the UK civil service if they let ministers out the door without being properly briefed, whether pre referendum (I recall Theresa Villiers then Secretary of State for NI stating that there would be issues with the border between ROI and NI) or post referendum (remember David Davis attending a meeting with Michel Barnier without a briefing pack).

@@DavidEdwards-uf5lg a) there was never a plan for Brexit formulated prior to the referendum, but any negative consequences like trade barriers, costs, etc. were declared as project fear! b) no deal itself is a misnomer, as there had to be some kind of deal at least about financial obligations already agreed to. c) As GB can't feed itself withput import of fresh products, where should that come from!? d) Going against the good friday agreement was never really an option, was it!? The lack of thought about that in regards to Brexit has resulted in the at times strange situation in Northern Ireland, which shouldn't be blamed on those living there right now, as their ancestores were send centuries ago to colonize. e) Feel free to campaign and vote for a more strict Brexit! There are still some left inside EU countries who dream of their own version of Brexit...

@@DavidEdwards-uf5lg If you had left with no deal there would be tariffs on all UK exports - now that would be a right sh*t show. A bigger sh*t show, in the event of no deal, would have been the re-installation of the customs border, and the relocation of the existing SPS border on the sea between NI and GB, between ROI and NI. Notwithstanding blowing the Good Friday Agreement and the Peace Process out of the water; given that the Island of Ireland would no longer be a single SPS zone, NI would have been hit with a major animal welfare and / or environmental crises within a week as NI has only 66% raw milk processing capacity and the only solution would have been a cull of 45,000 dairy cows in NI.

In Australias rather than a deal that would damage EU citizens the EU walked. Dale was also a Tory candidate in a past life, perhaps he still hopes and wants to keep that Tory option open?
