Maybe that's how the customer wanted it. As a wood turner just tell us what you want it to be and we'd be more than happy to accommodate you.

David VanVranken David, what most bodhràn players want is what many people would call a stock, both traditional and modern styles. From 9-14mm, parallel, and on mine I like a nice 1" long nail in one end to add some weight if I'm playing with a louder crowd. People like www.tippermaker.de/index.php/en/shop/macassar-tipper know bodhráns and bodhrán players, and the straight stick, brushes and even the more radical whipper tippers are what you'll see among the new breed of players, hell I've played a week in Kerry with a strippef branch from an ash tree

Thank God, someone who understands that a tipper should be solid wood.. we'll done, I'm fecked off with these eejits using bbq sticks as tippers..

Not sure why you hate the "bbq stick" tippers as I'd use them for the brushing sound they make. Still my favorite tippers are the ones Brian made for me.
