Might be under the radar, but the pattern on the ceiling there looks freaking AWESOME! That is a cool effect before you mount something on there.

sweet always a big fan of totems specially with gabes warmers on there for the elegant look its a clean way of lifting movers over a crowd without the messy tripod ect
@Koshy112 жыл бұрын
on the coupler pieces, there is a "dot" on on side, the Dot points out , or away from the truss, this dot identifies the larger hole

@briansredd I would also suggest using a rubber mallet - something a little softer. It would cut down on the noise too!
@martin0mac200012 жыл бұрын
@WeddingDJBusiness Normally I would use a 2m and a 1m stick of truss, or even just 1 3m section. You would just leave the top plate on, so its only a few pins, I could have them up in 5 mins no problems.
@djwalt812 жыл бұрын
@EklekTek1 You can cut holes in them, or take them to a welding shop to put some holes in it for you , If aluminum you will need a plasma cutter..
@WeddingDJBusiness12 жыл бұрын
@JSHEntertainments That might help a little bit but the sheer bulkyness of it would take a lot of room in the vehicle. Collapsable sides would help

@WeddingDJBusiness Hey I wanted to thank you crapping all over my new Truss! It's probably worth mentioning that it took me 20 minutes put together. I could have done it a lot faster, but I decided to shoot a video to share on KZbin while I was at it, so there was a fair ammount of camera/tripod repositioning involved. I also did it with 1 arm.

Nice video Brian. Maybe you should use a rubber or aluminum hammer so the pins won't be deformed to quickly.

Nice Truss!! They are really nice, but the cost is out of my reach right now. I would love to stop using the 10ft I beams on stands. This would be much easier and clean looking. I see many DJs that use just a few totems and moving heads, and that's all their lights. Elegant, and gives you the night club feel. Great Video!

@cashers123 Did a search & only saw them available in GPB or Euros. Wasn't aware something like that even existed. Before i stroked out, I assisted in more than my fair share of trade show big truss booth set-up break downs & everyone always used a ball peen.

The hair pin safety pins are not really "Cotter" pins. True Cotter pins are the type that one bends the legs apart after passing through a hole. These hairpins you have are very commonly used to secure "hitch Pins". Cotter pins are often used to prevent Castle nuts from coming loose, and are commonly found holding the nuts on wheel bearings. I wonder if the documents for your tower incorrectly call the hairpins "Cotter Pins?" A lot of foreign manufacturer documentation has such errors.

I love the look of "totems". So professional. BUT: it is a matter of bucks - the plates alone rip a big hole in anybody´s pocket - AND indeed: a quick mobile transport is way out of reach with them. STILL: they are beautiful and maybe only for your own home. @Brian: Again a great job! I just found your vid only today after being online since 3 y. I wonder if you added some more ideas on how to make use of the top-plate. I saw another vid last night and that DJ had a special top with 2 side plates on a lower level to add moving lights (a beamer was on the actual top plate.... his wife had to help him with the wedding-set up - to much for one person)

When you put moving head on the truss don't you have to secure it? I see some people drill wholes in it but how does the manufacture want us to secure it since they didn't put any wholes in it?

@123456789jammmy 1 - The base plate makes them very secure, but you can always weigh them down if you want. 2 - You should have insurance reguardless as to what you use

@briansredd hmm... maybe something we just do over here in the UK but the general rule over here is if you're working with truss never use metal to metal.. Would you like me to get a truss hammer sent over there for you?? I'm pretty sure If you speak to Global Truss they actually sell them.. sure i've seen them in their catalogue before!! Any queries give me a shout! :)

@briansredd Not a yes man or a sales man Brian. I can see problems with this and well just sharing. my thoughts on it. I haven't mentioned cost which I would think would be excessive not to mention postage. That's why they needed a truck./paltette to deliver it

I would've bought 1 tall truss piece instead of 3, alot cheaper and less time consuming. Truss towers look very cool but i think they are way to expensive for what they are.

@briansredd Hey Brian its ok love the new setup man. I so will have one similar for my dual mobile DJ setups. These things are super nice and super easy to set up. They also have amazing versatility such as mounting tv's and a nice safe platform such as your top plate to set those nice expensive moving head units. Those of you who post negative comments keep them to yourself because they are not warranted. KEEP THE VIDEOS COMING THEY ARE GREAT BRIAN!

PLEASE PLEASE Don't use that type of hammer with truss.. it'll ruin it after your first few gigs.. Instead use a dedicated 'truss hammer' I don't know how available these are in the US but they should come up with a quick google search! - It's got a softer construction and will protect your new investment! Not trying to tell you how to suck eggs.. just passing on my knowledge! Keep up the good work matey!!

I think Larry should watch this video :) Overall bad design 1/10 No thought put into ease of setup. No thought about how much space this would take up in the vehicle. I would think this would add an extra 30- 40 minutes for setup and pack down. Why - So an uplight looks good. just use a tripod Designer needs to have a rethink and have some empathy for mobile DJ's I mean come on how pins I you putting in -12 per stand Okay if this was designed as a permanent fixture. Nice video well presented
@briansredd12 жыл бұрын
@WeddingDJBusiness Hey man it's not for everyone, but a 1 out of 10? Suggesting something has no value because it isn't ideal for you is a bit extreme. I guess I just never understood why anyone would feel compelled to make thoes kind of absolute statements on something like DJ/Sound/Production equipment. I'm not a big fan or Bose or QSC or thoes goofy Star Cloths the UK loves so much, but i don't leave negative comments on thoes videos that someone may find informative or usefull.
@WeddingDJBusiness12 жыл бұрын
Fair comment 1/10 might be a bit harsh. I am judging from my point of view without using and only seeing you bangin in all those pins to me this is just stupid design.As for Bose I have used them and can tell you the good and bad points and there are some bad ones. The positive for the truss and why it scored a 1 because it looks aesthetically okay practically it scores low Don't take it personal I think you are doing a great job but sometimes you need to be more critical for improvement
@aammdj12 жыл бұрын
Stuff like this is just an ego stroke for the DJ. Zero need or functional (stand alone) use for them. "Now thats cool"...not really. Customers dont give a damn about superfluous stuff like this. All this extra gear, extra vehicle space needed, more weight to lug, more time in and out, more risk of injury handling large metal objects. Sign me up!
