Moises Ledesma- Saying that pitching wasn’t problem means you really don’t know baseball. The Yankees starters weren’t dominating in playoffs against the Astros. The Yankees heavily relied on the Bullpen and no World Series appearance in 10 year is terrible. Those are the facts.

I agree. The 18 Yankees reminded me of 96, a team not expected to win, but could. The 19 Yanks reminded me of 97, a team expected to win, but facing tough competition. What the 98 Yanks had was one of the best rotations of all time with 4 aces and a #5 that would have been a solid #3 at least on any other team. That's what we need again. The Yankees 2020 Yankees aren't competing with the other 2020 teams. They need to compete with the other all-time Yankee teams. If they don't win the championship, they lose that competition. If they do win the championship, then they make it to the real competition, for their place in Yankee history. Right now, they have several players who could turn out to be aces. But a lot of them could also be average. Cole and Strasberg are proven players worth the money in a way position players just aren't, even with the risk of aging pitchers.

@@tulrid7550 German reminded me of Severinos breakout season, the season before he became an ace. You can never guarantee anything, but I'm hoping he becomes an ace next year. I'm also hoping he gets effective therapy because what he did was NOT ok. I have a little professional experience with it (not a lot) and from what I've heard, for some people, the right programs can be effective, but far too often minor incidents escalate into major ones.

Cash already blew the Cole trade when he could’ve traded worthless Andujar & Frazier. No chance greedy Hal gets Cole or Stras. ONE ring in the 21st century. You give literally ANYONE Cashman’s job at the beginning of this century and they’ll win at least ONE ring by now. Not being able to convince greedy Hal to get Verlander in late 2017 was one of his biggest failures. He’s obviously just greedy Hal’s puppet at this point. Cole makes a lot of sense, especially seeing as this is Paxton’s final year under contract, Masa is getting up there in age, and we just lost CC. Although, a contact bat to break up some of the K’s in the lineup would also be welcomed.

This is a great interview! I wish he could have answered the budget question. But he’s right that would ruin there leverage to negotiate. I hope the budget affords them the ability to chase a front of the rotation arm. While also rounding out a lineup that already has its key cogs. Please protect Stanton next year! Aaron got robbed. Baldelli deserved a close 2nd place and Cash a close 3rd. What Boone did with the unprecedented amount of IL's to win 103 games and go to the ALCS after sweeping a great Twins team was exactly what Managet of the Year stands for. Dave Martinez hands down is NL manager of the year. What he did with his guys was amazing too for obvious reasons. He beat every team he was the underdog in after going on an amazing run at the end of the season just to make the wild card game. But, Boonie def got robbed. How much more can you define great managing than taking a team that loses its best guys or the guys that are the hottest at the moment that go down with injury, use your resources to the best of their abilities, pick and choose a different lineup based off the loss of that guy, decide who to call up and where to play them while you adjust the guys that are there...? Its doesn't get any more difficult than what he overcame to win 103 games and a trip to the ALCS. I said it before I'd love to see any other team in baseball do that uncluding the Yankees repeating that performance. That was sensational and sadly, it has beome overlooked and underrated of a job well done. I feel sorry for him. Typically what happens in that situation is the team has a horrific year, the manager ends up getting fired and the Asst bench coach becomes the interim manger while the team finishes up in last place. Boone did the unthinkable with those piles of shit dropped in his lap week after week from week one of the season straight through the ALCS.

Cora, Beltran and Hinch were all down with the program .. so I believe there was cheating going on by both Boston and Houston .. Yeah hes done some good things, he also had 47 million in payroll last year in the outfield (Stanton Ellsbury) that barely played, he has worked with a top 3 payroll for 20 years with one title, just imagine being the gm for Tampa bay and having 50 million in wasted payroll in 2 outfielders, also teams are built on chemistry which this team had, so WHY did we need Encarnacion to hit meaningless home runs or strikeout every at bat? I blame Boone as well refusing to stop batting him 4th or 5th every game, why???
