Noam Chomsky is the author of more than 150 books on topics that include linguistics, the press, the inner workings of empire, and the war industry.

Not really as sharp as ever... Bashing anti-fascists and claiming terrorists should only be opposed with rhetoric or else you are helping the far-right? The best way to oppose fascism is to let them organize, recruit and kill people...? I am glad I have always had too much pride to care what other people think... because he is so wrong on this issue its like he has no idea what is going on outside of his living room. In fact its so embarrassingly out of touch and inconsistent with everything history has taught us about fascism that Chomsky, even if he realized how wrong he was would never admit it. And even in the core of that onion nothing else than Lies and propaganda can be found. Thats why i respect people like Noam and Chris so much. They scan the facts from all aspects. Then they make their conclutions and bravely presents them to their audiences. It takes a lot of courage. And time. Humanity can only move forward if a platform of truth exists.

@@hansmarheim7620 I agree 100%. I have gained so much from both Noam & Chris, two gifts to humanity. I also am a proud student of Thom Hartmann. Lee Camp, Abby Martin, Amy Goodman, Randi Rhodes are factually credible and exposing nefarious agendas. I also follow Dr. Cornel West, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, Joe Madison, and Jane Elliott. I believe a handful in Congress are true public servants with Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Rep. Jamie Raskin, and Rep. Katie Porter at the top of that list. It's shameful to =the onslaught and constant barrage of deception, gaslighting, projection, fear mongering, and raw hatred that fills the airwaves. It's difficult to know what to believe. Trump didn't create the environment, but he single handedly catapulted his pathological lies to become an acceptable societal norm. He is a menace to society! Full stop! Noam Chomsky, among others, has helped me understand that I am a citizen of the American empire. His point seems to be that human empires would like to think they have their distinctive virtues, but they do not. I had to chuckle at his comment that he will not be interviewed by NPR, but he did not give a particular reason for that. Would it have anything to do with the length of his monologues? Which is also to say that KZbin and forums such as the Chris Hedges Report, provide a wider audience access to presentations that can go to the necessary length to establish sound arguments. For that I am grateful to both of these gentlemen. I will say I drew hope for the American empire that it appears that both of these men were speaking from some place of relative safety within America, that they were not speaking from prison, nor did they pronounce their intention to leave the jurisdiction of the empire. Enjoy the peace?

People are tribal. People fear death or destitution. The predator class knows this and twists the knife of prejudice into the masses so that they may HATE one another. Divide, Distract, Devolve peoples mentality. That’s there goal, and so the narrowness of peoples experience, due to circumstance in and beyond their control, makes for narrow perspective. A toxic brew of xenophobia, or class regression phobia aids in this whole process. A MASS FORMATION hypnosis then can siege an seize a population as what happened during the COVID scare and mass manipulation which made the rich richer and everyone else poorer.

@@ericmacrae6871 Paul Robeson was a athlete, Singer, Actor(Shakespearean trained) human rights activist and outspoken critic of The US Government treatment of Black people. He did support The former Soviet Union, but he was on the same level as WEB DuBois. I am a little taken a back by the fact that you do not know who Paul Robeson was. Long live Noam Chomsky!!. Embraced Noam as a linguist since the late 60's & evolved & grew with Noam Chomsky and Howard Zin and well as a few other unpopular voices of critical acclaim, all who spoke so eloquently humble, sensible & true to their own words without ego or a soapbox pulpit to spew drivel from. & all being the unsung heroes of my formative years in the late 60's onward to this day. The truth never hurts anyone, that's unless evermore promises of lies feels good & sounds great to those particular anyones. God knows we have been infused, overdosed and over stimulated with lies, deceit, divisiveness and blatantly obscene over- the- top greed ever since Ronald Reagan, the infamous B rated Death Valley Days Hollywood Cowboy & his Screen Guilded Squares entered the pre- Orwellian scene back in 1980 & reigned supreme over those minds who thrived off being pawns of mass deception, worshipping that boot strap cowboy & dear leader of some delusional free world fantasy, before, during and after the long Cold War. Afghanistan broke the Soviets back in the late 1980's and in turn the long Afghanistan & Iraq wars broke the US's exhausted mind and empty pocketbook a decade later , Especially after losing a war/conflict & so much coveted national trea$ure plus active duty military personal (as well as the untold lives of so many Vietnamese civilians) in the Vietnam Conflict just 20 some years before.. And then finally again in Afghanistan where the point was proven to the warmongering world that beyond the shadow of any doubt, Afghanistan is the place where empires have always gone to die. Hopefully with those harsh decades of experiencing long losing streaks the free world may realize that nobody actually wins at war anymore. The calvary is not coming soon and will not be there to save anyone. Despite their geopolitical positions & beliefs China and Russia were once our allies not so long ago. Being raised in the "duck and cover" paranoia era of the 1950's & 60's, where we were told that the Russians and Chinese will invade our country take our hot dogs and hamburgers away and make us eat cold Russian soup and stale bread, or fish heads and rice (on the west coast) was the common threat from the pinko commie fear propaganda machine, a fear infused world that children in my generation had to endure and some even believed.

Can all in left-YT please start educating people about both the: (1) difference between right-authoritarian vs. right-libertarian; & (2) difference between left-authoritarian vs left-libertarian? It’s long overdue. People aren’t cattle or sheep: They will understand if we educate them. Though we need to educate (& learn) about all the nuance.

yes, that's the most important political distinction to make (people need to understand that ideologies are placed on a grid, with 2 axis not just 1): the modern day class struggle of our times is (vertical, meaning) up (authoritarian; regardless of left/right position) vs. down (civil libertarian; also called populist, which can include the whole spectrum of left/right within it)...(a traditional horizontal political spectrum of purely) left vs. right is a distraction nowadays, used by the top to divide/conquer the populace (working class), & keep them fighting with each other so they don't turn their anger towards the elites who are oppressing them...this distraction includes: wokeism, culture war issues, identity politics, social media, msm/current events, hollywood/celebrity/royals, & tabloid fodder

why don't you do that instead of plastering every video with your order and i don't really get it,.. what you want is to clarify the difference between libertarian vs authoritarian, but i'm sure most people understand this difference already, intuitively. maybe we should aim much more at freeing ourselves from this very limiting, grind of competitive mindset(s) and thinking in binary boxes/teams so much in the first place, & how this distorts and affects everything. i dunno 🌐✊
