Great 👍 video Brian. Right on , took me years to figure those out back in the ‘70s - 80s . I have a Hammond Xk5 xLk5 now. hope to meet you someday. Maybe at NAMM. Keep swingin ‘ yeah 🎹

Hi Brian, I found this video after I bought your book which has helped me unravel how well known Hammond players achieve their signature sounds. I'm playing on a pair of m-audio Axiom 61's into VB3 II into the IK Leslie, your technique and setting suggestions are working pretty well with this setup.

I really enjoyed this, as I am converting from pipe organ I find this very helpful. Thank you so much.

Just picked up my first Clonewheel organ (80s Korg CX-3) and have been looking for something just like this to help me find some good sounds! I’m used to the Vox and Farfisa, but needed something a little easier on the ears. Excellent video! Can’t wait to try these out

So cool. A question about the organ - that's the Hammond sk1? I wonder if that push button control for the Leslie effect lets you get that sound as the B3 and it's rocker switch and a Leslie - when you can flick it off and the rotations are dying away and you hear the vibrato getting a little bit less and less each second

I have a new SK1. It seems the volume is low on some of the organ patches. Even when I use the manual mode. Anybody have any ideas?.I just got it about a month ago and it didn't seem like that when I first got it.

I may try these settings on a Yamaha reface YC, see how close I can get to these settings, cheers! :)

Yamaha Tyros 5 keyboard has a section called Organ World. Some are present ,but they sliders are also adjustable. I'm assuming I can create the same sounds . Are you familiar with the Tyros?

Great video Brian, would love to know how familiar you are to Jon Lords solo on the song HUSH. Do you think he double tracked it?? Thank you again!

Great settings ... thank you! Do you have a Greg Allman setting? I'm trying to emulate his setting for 'In Memory of Elizabeth Reed' as heard on the Fillmore East album. Thank you!

Hi Stephen I'm pretty sure it was 3rd percussion with Chorale and some distortion. I play with Jaimoe so I'm around the guys and I think that's the consensus

Nice pace to the video. Didn't hang about with excess jibber jabber! But not too keen on vertical video format!

Nice video. As for Jon Lord and his non-Leslie setup, isn't really true. Lord didn't use Leslie only for a very short of time, mainly in era of "In Rock" album. He used his Hammond connected to a Marshall amp, but most of the times his Hammond was connected to 2 or even 4 modified Leslie speakers.

Also Machine Head which is maybe his most famous work. I have had people tell me this before actually. i will qualify my statement to include this info next time. Thanks BB

Nice, man! I see you (or rather, SAW you...pre-pandemic) at Le Spud on several occasions. Question... What do you think Gregg Rolie's settings are at the beginning of "Song Of The Wind"? I've never been able to figure that one out as it sounds like there are chimes or handbells added... kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4SZaKJqo9V1q6c

Steve Winwood didn't use Leslie on Gimme some Lovin' - just lots of overdrive.
