Brian Coll has never been fully recognised as one of the great pioneers of Irish country music. Any time he came to Kilkenny or the nearby counties, I went to see him and chatted with him after the show. He was totally unassuming and had a wide knowledge of American country music and its Scots/Irish origins. I also met him while on holidays with my wife and kids in The Isle Of Mann, and to my great surprise, he told me of his avid interest in motorbikes and had come to watch the TT races that weekend. There should be an annual Brian Coll music festival in honour of The Man From Omagh , and as Ulster is the cultural capital of Irish country music , it deserves to have a museum to honour the many great artists that have come from that part of Ireland.

I was shaken to my very core when I heard of Brian's Passing. For 20 years I was trying to get up the road to Omagh to see him again and just say "Hello"...sadly that's like an all too familiar 'storyline' in my life these days. Thank You Brian for sharing your Life Journey with us all and Thank You for the Songs, the Music and the Precious Memories💖🎤🎶💖...
