Cox’s argument is invalidated by the following. Women graduate high school and college at a higher rate than men, majority of poor people are men, majority of homeless are men, 99% of military deaths are men, 95% of workplace deaths are men (meaning it’s men who are doing the most dangerous jobs), men get longer prison sentences for the exact same crime than women, mothers are favored in family court, in case of a burning building, sinking, ship, or hostage situation it is always “WOMEN and children first”, if we actually lived in a patriarchy none of the things I mentioned would be true. In our society we clearly value women more than men, and everything I mentioned proves it. There are countries where women are treated as second class citizens, but the US is not one of those countries.

Insights from Brian Cox's Interview On Succession: Ending and Character Development: Brian Cox appreciated the ending of Succession, emphasizing that the show did not overstay its welcome, a common issue with many series. He felt his character, Logan Roy, was simple in ambition but complex in execution, with the show effectively ending on a high note by ensuring the character's legacy was preserved through strategic business decisions before his death. Character Exploration: Cox mentioned that while Logan was somewhat straightforward, there was room to explore his political shift from left to right as he built his media empire, reflecting real-world dynamics of power and influence. On Political and Social Issues: Trump and American Politics: Cox expressed strong disapproval of Donald Trump's potential re-election, describing him as a dangerous fantasist whose policies reflect an isolationist and oligarchic mindset detrimental to democratic values. He highlighted the broader implications of such leadership on America's global and domestic stance. Gender in Politics: Cox critiqued the American political landscape for its treatment of women, citing historical examples like Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris. He longed for a matriarchy, suggesting that patriarchal leadership has been less successful. On Acting and Arts: Theater vs. Screen: Cox underscored the importance of voice and diction, skills he finds diminishing in modern actors, particularly in films where mumbling is more prevalent. He advocates for theater as it necessitates clear speech, which he learned early in his career. Directing and Acting: He shared his dissatisfaction with directing and acting simultaneously, preferring to focus on one aspect to maintain quality and truth in performance. Comedy: With age, Cox has shifted towards comedy, appreciating the absurdity of life and the joy of laughter, as seen in his praise for Harrison Ford's comedic role in "Shrinking." On UK Politics: Scottish Independence and Labour: Cox expressed disappointment with the current Labour leadership under Keir Starmer, describing him as uninspiring and ineffective compared to the needs following years of Conservative rule. This reflects his skepticism about the political process and leadership effectiveness. Cultural Observations: Hollywood and Trump: He noted a strained relationship between Hollywood and Trump's administration, exacerbated by environmental disasters and political appointments that he viewed unfavorably. Professional Advice for Aspiring Actors: Techniques: Cox emphasized mastering breathing techniques to support voice projection, which he considers fundamental for both stage and screen performances. This interview provides a candid look at Cox's views on his craft, politics, and cultural shifts, offering insights from someone deeply embedded in both the entertainment and public discourse arenas.

This is precisely why I want my football players to play well. My models should be hot. My mechanic to be able to fix my car. Actors need to be able to act. That's it, that's all they should do. I dont want my dentist to rewire my home. My doctor is of no use roofing my home. Actors shouldn't try to direct public policy.

It's not even that. In progressive circles, ideas are treated like fashion and no one wants to show up at a party wearing the wrong idea. These things are said as markers of belonging and barely thought about beyond that. If the winds of fashion change, so will they.

The comments provided here largely demonstrate a variety of informal logical fallacies, particularly those related to ad hominem attacks and appeals to authority. Here's a breakdown of some of the fallacies observed: Ad Hominem: Several comments focus on attacking the personal characteristics or profession of the speaker rather than addressing the content of their argument. For instance, comments like "Actors are just actors," or "Stick to acting guy" dismiss the speaker's opinion based solely on their profession, rather than engaging with the substance of their argument. This is a classic ad hominem fallacy where the argument is discredited by attacking the person rather than the argument itself. Appeal to Authority (or its inverse): There's an underlying assumption in many comments that actors should not comment on politics because they are not experts in that field. This is a misuse of the appeal to authority fallacy, where the validity of an argument is based on the authority of the speaker rather than the argument's merit. However, here, it's used inversely to disqualify someone's opinion because they are perceived as lacking authority in a different domain (acting vs. politics). Hasty Generalization: Some comments make broad, sweeping statements about actors or their political insights without considering individual capabilities or nuances. For example, "Actors are definitely never entitled" generalizes all actors in a way that might not reflect the reality of individual actors' engagement or knowledge in political discourse. Straw Man: There's an implicit straw man fallacy where some commenters might be exaggerating or misrepresenting the actor's position to make it easier to attack. For instance, suggesting that actors think they should "direct the course of political events" might be an oversimplification or misrepresentation of what the actor actually said or believes. Personal Incredulity: Comments like "Why would this guy's comments carry any more weight than the people who suffer from the society?" reflect a disbelief in the actor's perspective based on the commenter's own incredulity rather than addressing the actual content or merit of the argument. These fallacies illustrate how debates can shift from the substance of an argument to personal attacks or irrelevant qualifications, undermining constructive dialogue. Recognizing these fallacies aids in focusing discussions on the actual issues at hand rather than on the speaker's background or perceived authority.

Have mercy on us may God have mercy on you appeal only out of hunger and poverty, O scholar, be well in our skin. 😭😢😭😢😢I asked you, by God, to save us before we die of extreme hunger. I asked you to enter. on God. I am a Yemeni girl from Yemen, displaced from my family and I. Between us is a house of 20 thousand Yemeni riyals, and now we owe 60 thousand for 3 months. The owner of the house is one of those people who do not have mercy. By God, my brother, he comes every day and humiliates us and talks about us and wants us to go out to the street because we were unable to pay him the rent. The neighbors saw us crying and they went back to talk to the neighbors and we have not paid him until the end of the week. I swear to God, this will put us out to the street. May God have mercy on us. Our country is suffering because of this war and we cannot find our daily sustenance and we live, my mother and my brothers are traveling, our father passed away, may God have mercy on him, and we have no one in this world to be with us in these harsh circumstances. My little brothers went out to the street and saw the neighbors eating and stopped at their door to give them even a piece of bread. By God, who owns the heavens and the earth, they closed the door and threw them out and they came back crying, dying of hunger. No one had mercy on them and the holiday was returned so I could live. Now, if one of us does not help us with a kilo of flour, I swear to God that we will die of hunger. Oh brother, I seek refuge in God and then in you and I want your help for the sake of God. I ask you by God, do you love good and help me even with 500 Yemeni riyals? Send me a WhatsApp message on this number 𝟬𝟬𝟵𝟲𝟳𝟳𝟭2414748 and ask for my card name and send it and do not delay and God will compensate you with all good. My little brothers, see how they are and help us and save us before they throw us out into the street. You will be humiliated or die of hunger. My family and I ask you by God, if you are able to help us, do not delay in helping us.
