yes it is very clever how you can apply the song to your own situation - incidentally Brian wrote it about giving up smoking which he had done all his life & wanted to kick the habit but coundn't so went to a see a specalist . Hence some of the lines like " in the night I would breathe you in" & if you look at the lyrics from a smokers point of view it all makes sense but yes you can apply the words to love etc - a great songwriter!

A young lover often ends up with two people who are not what they thought them to be: their partner and themself. We often find, that the people around us aren‘t who we thought they were. And when we are young we also often find out, that we ourselves aren’t who we thought we were. I guess thats why young love is so tragic…Relationships can lead to these painful moments when you find out who you really are.

Grief is a very complicated mystery of life . Why is it so difficult to move on from attachment. . Dependency that's why. We as humans become dependent on certain people and ideas to get by emotionally. Serenity is what we so desperately need. And that comes from recognizing how selfish and self centered we are . And we don't even realize that that is what we suffer from. " I need to always feel a certain way " " if not , how could I possibly go on", and our feelings and emotions are usually dictated by another person. When we no longer have that person to reinforce those feelings we grew so dependent on , we grow into a dark state of self pity. Our ambitions and personal relationships are effected the most . " If only I could have those feelings and emotions back, all would be well" again it's wanting what we want... selfishness . Driven by fear . We rely on self , and again our makeup is made up of how others make us feel. Our goal is to move on from that through acceptance. But in order to achieve serenity we must have a relationship with some form of spiritual power . Because people including ourselves will always fail us. It's a shame that we put so much reliance on people and things that will eventually go away . .. and I only share on this because I suffered from co dependency for the longest. And it caused a lot of grief. It was exhausting

I met a girl in November and I've had the best days of my life, we've had arguments and I have a lot to work through from my past as does she. I was locked out of her life for a few days and I realised that's when I really do love her and her kid. I've never felt that much for someone and Brian's gave me a bit of strength to acknowledge stepping back and try trusting that even if it's 5 months down the line, if we take it slow I can permanently be there but I need 21 days or more to start fixing myself to be better. Thanks Fallon.
