Brian Hyland grew up on Long Island in the 1940s and 1950. He bought a guitar and learned to play it and sing and attended school for performing artists in Manhattan. He knocked on the doors of the offices of the major song writers in NYC and luckily, an opportunity arose. He was asked to record a song about a girl who wore her bikini to the beach for the first time and was afraid to be seen wearing what little of it there was. She got the courage to get on the beach and into the water. That song took Brian to no. 1 and the song was played and sung in every house, school and car in American. Everyone knew his name. From there, he attracted other songs which he recorded that repeatedly took Brian to the top of the charts. Brian talks about his history and his success and shows why he remains in demand on stages throughout the world, even 60 years later.
