The yellow wood might be Osage Orange otherwise known as Hedge Apple. It makes very good knife handles. I made a few knives with it for a friend in Tennessee. Look forward to what you make out of the supplies you are accumulating.

Good mail call George, that was really nice of Brian to send you that wood. There was a fellow around my area that used Osage Orange wood to make custom ball point pens. I think he drilled the hole for the mechanism first then turned the outside down on a lathe. The contrast in grain and color was beautiful. I think you are on the right track about making a handle for a Opiinel knife. Take care.

Pomme De Terre river means potato river. I live about a mile from the lake. The yellow wood is hedge. Red cedar is beautiful & smells so good when sanding. All the wood mentioned i live amongst. The hedge is not on my property. The 4" square block & some rounds are red cedar. Can't wait to see what you do with everything. I had to wait on my granddaughter to get home from school to watch you open it.
