A real top 250 guitarists of all time list would place Brian Seltzer in the top 10.

Good stuff! I don't understand how he's not more popular than he is, most of the music that is out now is total crap, people should appreciate this kind of music much more than they do.

I like Setzer, but I don't like his interpretation of this song. Joe Maphis's solo on the original is truer to its Johnny Burnette rockabilly roots, which is surprising because of Setzer's deep rockabilly influence.
@kuriman81594 жыл бұрын
I know how you feel. Despite Brian deep knowledge of rockabilly,Why do they play on 8-beat rock? At that time, Did he like that…? It's cool to see it live, but does anyone feel like you? I think few people think it's the same as your thoughts. You have own beliefs. I'm glad to your comment !

Brian was great, but his band was shit. Nothin like the sound of the gut bass the Stray Cats had. Electric bass sucks. Thats why the Stray Cats were better than most of the shit rock bands of the 70s and 80s. It was the bass that made it real. Without the real gut bass, the rithym section is just wishy washy, non-descript undefined.
@kuriman81595 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment. Your English is easy to understand. The upright bass of Stray Cats sound uses an electric pickup. (steel, not gut.Same as electric bass) I think that is the best for Stray Cats sound. The images of Stray Cats and Dave Edmunds are amazing! However, in other Brian's bands, the upright bass of the microphone pickup matches. But that sound is never boring. Connie Smith also chose an electric bass in 50’s. I think that the electric bass matches 8 beet. And the slap bass matches the shuffle beet. Kenny Aaronson's electric bass is great.(He is not here) Brian is friendly with good musicians, and I think the musicians' music is great. I am sorry that my English is so bad. ありがとう!
