Brian needed this. As someone who followed his Strongman career for almost a decade he is so competitive. He will never be satisfied or pleased. Always want to get better. Nobody puts more pressure on him than Brian Shaw himself. He’s a champion for a reason and got the mindset of one.

The result of the match between Brian & Eddie was the best possible outcome for everyone. Brian won, which helped keep his confidence, but not in a landslide, which will keep him motivated. Eddie had a much better showing than he was built up to having, which helped HIS confidence. Hopefully Eddie decides to stick with this for a while, I think he would be awesome. The show was great and they both looked like they had a lot of fun. Match of the night for sure. This is great for us fans and the sport overall. Impressive showing by two true champions. I'm excited to see what their ongoing participation will bring.

Brian being disappointed is a good thing. It means he isn’t complacent. He strives for perfection in everything he does and he will only get better from here. Eddie has arm wrestled before so I wouldn’t say less experience but that said if I’m Brian I hook up with Neil because he did amazing with Eddie.

2 things: (1) I think losing a couple rounds, and one from fouls and the other in the straps, is good for Brian because more can be learned from 'losses' and it's motivating. And (2) If someone doesn't do as well as people thought and someone does better - then we can't have both where that underdog is so strong and awesome and the favourite isn't good anymore. Either the favourite was not as good all along, or the underdog was too underrated (because if it's both, then the favourite guy was never good, so beating him doesn't mean much and the underdog still isn't that good). Many times in sports or competitions people react like it's both, but should really only be one or the other. (Sure we could have where one is overrated and the other underrated by a bit each, so they're each in a more middle ground, but no one talks like that - it's as if one guy is poor and the other is great for beating a poor/middle guy - doesn't make sense because it's contradictory).

Problem is that Brian would need to do a lot of competitions but the secrecy is needed to get the big bucks. Interest would go down the drain if he placed third in an open tournament with unknowns. This is what happened to Larry wheels, he started to loose against newbies and the people lost confidence of his potential.

I don’t know when everyone is commenting on the strength of Brian Shaw they actually mean to say the arm wrestling strength or not otherwise no one comes closer to Him. He is way too strong in every aspect, only thing is that he don’t know how to arm wrestle or he still is not accustomed with arm wrestling techniques.

If he would have taken Eddie straight to the pad 4 straight times without hesitation , then I think the upper echelon of supers would be on alert . I dont know why he was disappointed. Originally i felt that short of dominating, this was the best thing for brian because he proved to himself and everyone else that he has excellent stamina, keeps his horsepower though a long championship length super match, has plenty of heart, and is able to stay focused and present till the end. After thinking about it i actually think this was the best possible outcome for him. No reason for disappointment.

Yes the score was 4-2, but when actually pulling it was 5-1. Brian fouled 2x and gave the 1st round to Eddie, and he pinned Eddie 1x but the foul was called on Eddie as he did it. He didn't roll through Eddie, but again Edie is likely stronger than anyone else in arm wrestling, and while Eddie was only training for the last 5-6 weeks he has had a bunch of other exhibition matches over the years. Further more NP trained Eddie in a much more focused way than Brian was trained. Which will make him more fluid in what he knows, but more limited in every thing else. I honestly wasn't a bit surprised that Eddie was competitive, Eddie is a world class athlete, and very proud and competitive. Brian will def take what he learned and he will be much better in the next one, and keep improving after that as well.

Although Eddie did great, Brian still adapted, adjusted, and overcame in the middle of a match to get the 4-2 victory. It's crazy some people are giving him little to no credit lol. In a rematch a year from now Brian would smoke Eddie in a clean sweep 6-0. No fouls and just so arm wrestling strong that eddies technical side wouldn't even matter, a lot like Levan wins his matches, just to big to strong so table IQ doesn't even matter much

I really don't think it was that bad from Brian...things look weird when people hold on like Eddie was. It was Eddie with some major technical mistakes. Even though Ed was really good in some areas he really chased Brian which caused him to loose...You could see Eddie shaking out his hand between rounds it was blown up from holding on.
@hessuhoponen8745
@hessuhoponen8745 19 сағат бұрын
Yes. I think Eddie could have won if he just slipped and got to the strap. Atleast one round he was able to win in a strap but still kept this non-armwrestler mentality and refused to slip as it is "pussy behavior" according to him. But this is only speculation. Maybe the setup grip had the biggest role here, it looked quite easy for Brian every time he had a good grip from the start.
