You can learn a lot about a person based on their tone of voice when discussing this case. Btw, I have so much more respect for someone "born with a silver spoon in his mouth" who empathizes with the people his family made it's wealth from, then someone who grew up modest and decided to make his wealth off the blood of families like the one he was raised with. We can't choose what household income we are born into. How we choose to live our lives is what matters. If you let your bias lower a little and actually looked into Brian Thompson's history, maybe you could understand how while obviously it's heartbreaking for his children, there's not going to be a lot of people who aren't apathetic. Channels have been covering this case 24/7 because the billionaires only care about the billionaires. A woman was literally set on actual fire on a New York subway on Monday, while a cop walked right by her and took no action, and while the man who murdered her, sat and watched her corpse burn on a bench. Not one word from mainstream society. Because only rich people's lives matter. Those of us who don't make millions a year, are met with apathy when we die, so why should we care when the rich people oppressing us die?

I’m sorry but there is something so much bigger going on here other than narcissism. By all accounts Luigi Mangione was beloved by his friends and family. Every account I’ve heard have said he was kind, polite, generous and thoughtful. He had no history of narcissistic behaviour. There would have been red flags. It doesn’t fit. There’s something else happening here. I’m convinced it’s a mental health issue. He described having visual snow on Reddit…

Mangione was angry about the equation of USA having highest cost per capita for healthcare yet lowered life expectancy. One part of that is demographic, with a relatively high number of old people who naturally tend to need more healthcare which is also a problem for basically all modern western countries. But where USA stick out different is a couple of other areas. One is they have fewer medical residencies per capita. Another is the level of individuality and amount of people with poor lifestyle choices, as one example in the last three decades childhood obesity have quadrupled. Aside of massively increasing the risk for chronic illness in early years it is also so that obesity is associated with more forms of cancer than smoking. But plenty of the influencers who want to include obese people into "body positivity" (which initially was for people who could not do anything about their conditions and handicaps) tend to have an attitude they perceive as sassy with they "don't owe anyone health". Europe outscore USA in alcohol consumption though if we compare avoidable lifestyle impact.

I work in the field of business coaching. You hear all the time how rising to higher management or board positions turns nice guys into pathological monsters. Even Jordan Peterson once said that that's why there are so few women in these positions is that most women can't reach that level of ruthlessness and sociopathy that it takes to get to those positions. He said that only a very small percentage of men can become CEOs of huge companies because of the insanity necessary for the position. So knock it off with the sentiment for Thompson, Vinnie. Also where is the American public on these issues and their voices BEFORE this? Now they are brave and hide behind the coat tails of a 26 year old dumb sh*t. A cold blooded murderer who doesn't know sh*t. He isn't old enough to have suffered for decades. Don't get me wrong, I'm as upset with the health care thing as anyone. But he is no hero. He's alive, He's running around traveling and taking ebikes, etc. I mean really did his allowance get shorted or something at 26 when some patient in his family's owned nursing homes got denied payment? He is a first class idiot that gave up his own life and freedom. Good show, just saying not going to fall into this crazy sh*t. It is not how you solve things.
