You mean it was Mike Brown/Tommie Harris and Urlacher who took the Bears to the Super Bowl. Hester was a big part of it, but the defense was unstoppable when those 3 players were healthy and on the field. Everything else fell into place after that. It certainly wasn't Lovie's in-game decisions or Sexy Rexy and his turnovers. When Chicago lost Brown and Harris at the end of the season they were screwed. Bad luck.

Let's not cry for Urlacher. He's a Hall of Fame athlete - but he wasn't Lawrence Taylor special... he didn't bring Super Bowls. LT won SBs with Phil Simms and Jeff Hostetler as his QB. Hostetler!! Brian was fast - but he wasn't that ruthlessly tough in an intimidating way. like Lawrence who could break your leg and end your career... and by accident (not even on purpose). Look at Urlacher's performance in the Super Bowl: For all the people who want to say Cutler didn't do anything for the Bears (Jay did score 4 TDs in his 1st Playoff Bears game), consider how Urlacher had a kind of embarrassing performance in the biggest game -the Super Bowl vs. the Colts. Got pushed around all day long.... got run over by Dominic Rhodes and that offense over and over. The Bears are frugal - and they did overrate Cutler for sure. They should have invested in Oline (If they had a great Oline, that line could still be playing today) and not paid Cutler as much - but that's easier to say now. The Bears shouldn't have let Peppers go to the Packers - but it's not like Julius won a SB in Green Bay anyway. Peppers was better than Brian in physical hand-fighting and just overall battling at the line. Urlacher deserved to be treated tough by Bears management for acting silly, running around with Paris Hilton, and in general not being more serious about winning and the franchise - he got paid millions, he'll make the Hall of Fame (probably on the 1st Ballot).

@richardb.47528 жыл бұрын
yes, you really hurt my feelings, i would like an apology from you now, it would really make my night. "you sound proud that NFL has more injuries lol" please tell me how i sounded "proud"... you're bringing up rugby which is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT sport with COMPLETELY DIFFERENT rules than the NFL to someone(FotMS) who was talking about what NFL players go through. now that you coming off as proud about something that is irrelevant to what was initially posted. "wouldn't that mean NFL players are pussy compared to rugby?" no, it's me pointing out that the NFL is a more physical game than rugby with more severe consequences. "I'm just saying, its not about "higher impact" its more technique. you should watch rugby hits and in your right mind tell me it ain't real" what you're saying is POINTLESS. the technique used in rugby to tackle would not fully work in the NFL. there are some minor things that might work but it's not all that valuable because of how differently the rules are in both sports. also, when the fuck did i say rugby hits ain't real? the NFL hits harder than rugby and that's a fact, it doesn't mean i think rugby hits ain't real.

dude, matt forte sucked....lol he was a good one cut guy that could catch. have EVER seen him break a tackle? no. He was actually a fullback that didnt like to hit people but had skills so became a running back with skills. not talent. he did VERY well for himself. and the interception throwing jay cutler was a contending team. i remember the touchdown throwing jay cutler throwing touchdowns. you gotta go and take a look at drew brees and tom brady, their are some things there that are for them and only them that the bears didnt have, meanwhile the bears had things for them to, things they did not have. anyway......im just sayin the o line was not a pass blocking o line and we had like 11 coordinators and a defense.

I have been a Bears fan my entire life. Unfortunately when George Halas died his daughter who was married to Ed McCaskey, inherited the team along with the McCaskey family. They’ve been absolutely horrible in every step of their player personnel decisions to hiring front office & coaching positions. They’re absolutely clueless as to how to run a football organization. If Halas didn’t hire Ditka before he died, the Bears would be on a 58 year championship drought right now. Their current chairman, George McCaskey, is beyond a joke. Not only is he clownish & clueless but I also detect some mental illness in his behavior. Ryan Pace & Matt Nagy should’ve been fired after the 2020 season. Instead he brought them both back to dig the hole this organization is in, a lot deeper. They will both be fired after this upcoming (2021) season. What they did to Urlacher was shameful as well as classless. This organization is a complete mess and is in total disarray.

Now I'm a Vikings fan and I'll admit that Brian was a beast. I'm glad, at the end, he chose his health over money.

Brian’s right he wasn’t a Phil Emry Guy but Jonathan Bostic is...says all you need to know about Phil Emry...edit. Why is this being suggested to me two years later 🤣👍🏻

I remember Briggs didn't want to play in Chicago because of the front office
@buddylee85706 жыл бұрын
nah, he wanted to be 'the guy' elsewhere. briggs had a great agent that always did what he could for him. he REALLY coulda went and been a big name literally any team any defense. But he stayed. that was cool.

Considering how dangerous and how many people get injured playing professional football organizations treat NFL players the worst out of any of the major sports in the United States
@archiestanton27675 жыл бұрын
Sadly, if you watch the films of the last year Brian played with the Bears, after his knee injury was supposed to have healed, he just couldn't run like he used to. I sensed the Bears would have to let him go.

Damn shame. That guy's range was insane. I've seen him bite hard on a playaction, then sprint back to deflect a pass to the TE. Sideline to sideline run stopper. That guy was a genetic freak. I'm a steeler fan, so I really appreciate quality linebackers. Brian was a once every 20 years kinda LB.

Everyone is always so surprised how front offices treat legends. Every team does it, they throw their best out as soon as they dry up just a tad. Just goes to show it’s all just business, they don’t care.

He says the disrespected him with an offer but nobody else was offering him a contract so why did he think he was worth more? He obviously wasnt

Very strange how the Bears kept Cutler and trashed Urlacher. It seems to be the norm these days, where employers trash their best employees and treasure their worst. Not sure why, but it is what it is I guess.

Exactly. But ppl be mad at T.O.
@chrisgast6 жыл бұрын
People are mad at T.O. because of his attitude. Urlacher usually had class and wasn't much of a show-boater.
@fakephoenixprince6 жыл бұрын
@@chrisgast that's my point! But their contract situation ended up being the same. But they had no problem paying Cutler. If an organization wants to take care of you, they will get it done no matter what. Smh

This is an old interview. Releasing this a few weeks ago isn't fair. Brian and the new Bears management have made plans to reconcile their relationship, and Brian even works for a local station where has his own show about the Bears.
