I have to tell you, Briana, I made the cascade long hooded sweater with ribbon insert for my granddaughter. She loved it! My younger granddaughter saw it and loved it so! It can depend on your tension, it’s possible it might change the stitch width gauge. However, you could do this with the guide because creating that way is more about the measurements

Your count wrong starting ch 161 and do granny. There 32 holes . You say go in 23 right. Then you skip 5 for neckline.well other side needs 23 also right? Well flowing your measure there only 32 holes to work in 😢

If your guage swatch is right you can change hook sizes. I'm using a 6mm to get the guage correct
