It seems to me that you missed the point entirely. The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress is my favorite Heinlien book, and I have read almost everything he wrote. The book is not about the computer, and it's becoming sentient. It's about a struggle to throw off incompetent governing. It's about people as a group and as unique individuals. Heinlein's greatest ability is his understanding of people and how they react in given situations. His second greatest ability is translating it with a sense of irony and humor.

Every time I think I've read all of Heinlein's books, I discover another one.

The Moon is a Harsh my favorite book of all time (currently reading it a 3rd time). I never thought I would cry when you can't connect to a computer. Stranger is really solid, as well as Time Enough For Love.

I could not begin to express how much respect I have for your outreach work at your local Prison -But on the other hand, as a foreigner from distant shores, America's privatized "for profit" prison system, looks like the ultimate cautionary tale that all other capitalist societies should avoid at all costs.

In Utah the prison is run by the state government and always has been. Private prisons are slowly being fazed out in other states. I would not work for a private prison. They SUCK!!! And they are dangerous. And they pay is SHIT

It's great to hear there is reform happening in that sector! And not even remotely surprised that the private prisons siphon all the profits into the pockets of the owners/share holders -at the expense of the staff; prisoners and facilities, which is exactly why that model is such a disaster.
