Great video Brian, thanks for the recap! 7:12 Unless I'm misunderstanding, this is reversed. If you perfect parry your opponent's +42F safe jump, you are +2F after the PP. So you're not plus enough to actually punish counter, but you're still the one who's plus. Leads to some interesting mind games - I've seen the attacking (i.e. safe jumping) player immediately let a super or ex DP rip in this situation as often both players mash grab. As the defending (perfect parrying) player, you can immediately back dash and be about +9F or 10F if the attacker mashes throw after your perfect parry and your character has a 23F back dash. Re-tested to confirm against Ryu's +42F safe jump setup (only one I know well) into each jumping button with the same result. If it's character-dependent for some reason, then apologies in advance.

They put less stress into execution and seems to be more about how you use the tools you've got and optimizing your green stuff, as well as match up knowledge, it's almost perfect. Still can't imagine why people are so worried about who's better than who, this shit is so cool lmao. Tier list are great till you run into a guy like broski.

@ 7:12 Actually, it's the person that perfect parried the safe jump that is +2. The attacker here is -2. Perfect Parry is 1F recovery after the Perfect Parry happens. Jump-ins have 3F landing recovery after the Perfect Parry happens. 3-1 = 2F advantage for the defender that Perfect Parried the safe jump.

There something special about Ending Walker's Ryu. Just seems to be his highest level character. I know he's played so much Ryu in SF6 but I also think it suits him. If you're an aggressive front foot player with good neutral you don't miss having no neutral skip and don't suffer for having slower but still solid drive rush. And on the upside he makes great use of Ryu's high damage and really good range from Cr Medium Kick and High Blade Kick. And when the opponent gets a bit aggressive Ryu has fireball, shoryuken, and all the usual strong defensive tools. I think Mago is finding success with Ryu lately for similar reasons. Another aggressive player who pushes opponents back with great neutral and damage threat, plus defensive tools to hold that space. Daigo has said Ryu might have the best corner game of any character. It may not be the ultra high pressure mixup central other characters can do, but he has the tools to keep them there with good reads and the damage to wipe out half your health with one good read.
@boredomkiller9911 ай бұрын
Ryu is extremely dangerous in the corner as his damage potential even off lights is pretty high and he can even set up a denjin charge that maintains oki

The Jamie didn’t have a drink he was limited on what combos he could use to kill. He needed to go into super to K.O. As a Jamie Main I definitely think JP is one of the hardest matchups for him
@Brian_F11 ай бұрын
No, he could've easily killed without super, and purposefully did the lowest damage combi possible with the most number of hits in order to build super meter, but he figured that combo would still be enough to kill. It doesn't matter how hard the matchup is, he chose the wrong route there on purpose and lost for it in that one interaction

I really like when young vs older player matches happen you can clearly see the younger player takes more risks while the older one takes more educated choices. It ends up leading to some very interesting dynamics during fights. It was kinda sad that Shivs seemed to be tilted and that ended up making a sad second match against EW.

I used to be a SF player and every time I play/watch 6 I just don’t get invested into the game and don’t see the hype surrounding it, I know that if I don’t like something I can just not watch/play it but I really want to like 6 because Ed is coming soon and I try to stay in the loop of 6 but I just don’t like it, to me it’s very bland and uninteresting but we are all entitled to our own opinion and this is mine I don’t want to have hate in the replies I’m just voicing my opinion.
