This has helped me alot. Im currently taking an MBA in Oslo, Norway and this stuff isnt covered in school. A question, how do you know Warren has 7 rules for analyze an income statement, and 5 for the balancesheet? It's so well made and easy to follow so thank you!
@RK24-b5p10 күн бұрын
probably insider info. Stuff Buffet doesn't wanna say. Something like insurance where you can take the money you get upfront and invest it + your customers are other insurance companies

Great Video , would you be able to advise where these rules of thumb were obtained from, did Buffett lay these out in a document somewhere? Cheers.

They are found in his books! These come from "Warren Buffett & the interpretation of financial statements."

Very rational explanation. However in the recent past Buffet has been selling AAPL with all 7 indicators being positive?

There’s more to investing than just financial statement analysis :)

Buffet was converting shares back into cash. That investment ran away, and Buffet would ordinarily keep his winners forever. But He is running an investing company. And that means finding new investments for the future and purchasing them. This takes cash. AAPL was the largest portion of his portfolio, and it is somewhat "overpriced" at the current market conditions. Selling now means having the cash to but other assets OR buying back into Apple at a discount after a looming market correction. There was also the chance that Kamala Harris would win the election, and Bidens 2025 tax plan included a hike from 21% to 28%, plus threat of additional capital gains tax. Taking profits NOW before the end of 2024 is smart, to hedge against significantly increased taxes next year. The Trump election mitigates that particular risk. But brings with it many more. (Rampant inflation, as Trump historically debased the US dollar by 1/5th or 20%, leading to rampant inflation as he left office, while blaming it on his successor and leveraging that lie to gain re-election). So, the markets future is precarious with Trump, not stable.

Concentration risk. If I recall correctly Berkshire’s portfolio, at the time, was composed of nearly 40% or 45% of Apple stock. I’m not sure anyone else pointed this out.
