A life saver for beginners! Genius. Thanks Brian. 5-minute music producer book cover caught my eye's attention.

Took me forever to figure it out! And it's kinda hard to explain to others if not in the same room as them. But now, I not only have the right video to send people.. I also have a reference for myself when I forget:D Great vid, man. Golden!

I can find the candidates. I can even find the specific file, but I just don’t know how to replace it. I can see them there but I can’t put them back in??? 😢

Showing the multiple files and double-clicking should do the track, does it not? I demo that at 2:32 in this video

Why does Live sometimes automatically replace/restore the files, and other times it doesn't? It's confusing when you *think* you've found your missing files, and it still tells you "Media files are missing." I find myself having to find the same device or instrument, and just dragging that on to the old device on the track with the supposed missing files, and only THEN does the "Media files are missing" dialog go away.

Usually if more than one copy of the sample is found, Live will not automatically replace them. I go over that at: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIXFl52jaqp5g9Esi=8ibZAldZgVuciK_D&t=150 It's likely the device or instrument that is in your Session with the missing media files is expecting those samples to be somewhere else and they are not there. If you replace the instrument, it's probably an instrument that is referencing files from a place the samples are located. Of course, there are a lot of variables in each situation, but from my experience, these are the types of things I've been confused about.

Some of my old files from Ableton won't even open the empty session, it just gives me an error and not even open up the project. Any tips?
@BrianFunkMusic7 ай бұрын
I'm not sure, probably need more info... Are you talking about .als files or something else? But try going open Live and go into the browser. Find those troublesome files and see if you can drag them into the current Session. If they are .als files, they will have a triangle you can unfold and see the individual tracks. Try dragging those tracks in one by one. There might be a track that has some kind of problem with it. I hope that helps!

Also check your Cloud back up. that's usually the culprit
