Thank you for the no BS review, you are one of the few that actually drive the cars that you feature. I really don’t know why someone would watch 20 minutes “quarks and features” on a cool car just to see 3-5 minutes of the car actually doing its intended job.

Answer: a DB11 V12 with forged wheels and stiffer subframe bushes. Yes that’s it. The rest is updated damper, trans and engine maps, plus of course the cosmetics. Buy a DB11 V12 for $30,000 less and pay any AM dealer $1999 for the reflash! (or get the AMR software for free as part of the deal!)

Had trouble choosing for myself, it is very difficult to notice exact differences over quite short test drives... 😅

Indeed. The AMR resolves the dynamics of the V12 and the big engine is simply the better choice for a host of reasons.

Yeah, in the end went for the V8 for economic reasons and also because felt like the sound of V8 was a little more aggressive... but again would not mind giving the AMR a second shot!

If I'd win the lottery right now Aston would somehow still give me a headache buying a car. In the luxury GT spot my first choice is the Lexus LC500. The beautiful DB11 would feel wrong as a V8 next to a V8 Lexus. DBS is not my kind of styling, less elegant than the DB11. The AMR feels somewhat odd in it's own right - deleting all styling options that would designate it as AMR instead of "normal". All hypothetical theory, but just my thoughts.

The LC and DB11 aren't quite cross-shopped. I love the LC, mind you, and the DB11 V8 is still a lovely machine. There's nothing quite like an Aston Martin, no matter how good the LC is (and it's unquestionably the better car across a wide range of parameters).

@@BrianMakse Absolutely. I imagine there's a whole other level of craftsmanship and exclusivity tied to an Aston. The DBS would be the choice to reduce the smiliarities even more. Just the styling, especially the front end, is not my taste. So in conclusion after all my theoretical lottery money would probably sink into an LC500 and something way different, out of the 4-seater GT class. Too bad there just isn't any lottery money, yet ;-)

@@6rimR3ap3r Get on it! The only four seater GTs that are on my radar are the Continental and the Lusso. The back seats in both DB11 and LC are utterly useless. I took some family to Disneyland in the Continental convertible in the fall. Brilliant all 'rounder, that thing. But, but, but, the LC is so special...
