Couldn't agree more. I was the ultimate Queen fan in highschool (78-82). I still have all the original vinyl from Queen I through The Game. His tone comes from the Red Special and his Vox AC30 settup. It was that sound I found so inspiring, as well as his studio orchestrations.

Go ahead and get a guitar. My recommendation, a Glarry guitar. They are good, less than $100. Get a package = guitar + amp. Strat, Tele, two humbucker, hum + single + hum styles. Light, basswood, 22 frets. Delivery included in the price. Then, select a decent guitar course. You will enjoy it. For more fun, also get a Casio arranger keyboard. Perhaps a CDP-350S? A think that is the model. 88 key, built in 200 rhythms, about $400. Then your little brother or sister can play with you and sing. Lots of free music on the Internet. Chords and lyrics to songs. Or, a friend can come over and play and sing with you. Have some fun.

Imagine how or what modern "musicians" would do if they were thrust into this eras technology with no editing which can make even annoying chipmunks an album. I feel like a vast majority of our "musicians" would realize really quickly they werent as talented or skilled as they thought they were. I feel like Jim would have a heart attack watching or rather listen to 99% of rappers who just butcher the english language and whose lyrics revolve around their drug dealing, their murders or hoes,or their money no matter what one of those categories or all of them. No care or thought into the lyrics. Rappers shouldnt even be considered musicians in my opinion. They do nothing that requires talent, skill, or effort. Just write down some crappy I got money lines go "rap" in the recording studio and smoke a blunt while the machine transforms the "song" into something a little bit better than trash.

Love him❤️❤️❤️ Jimi Hendrix might be the number one guitar player of all time according to statistics but my favorite is Brian May!

His pick is a coin???

some very incredible variables that make up the Brian May tone.the centuries old wood from a fireplace mantle of his homemade guitar, his hand wound homemade pick ups, to his vox amps, his sixpence coin, and of course his melodic playing style.it's safe to say he has a unique sound.

Yep, he only uses coins, never a “proper” plastic or metal plectrum, whether live on stage or elsewhere.
