Maiden flight for my Habu 50mm PNP today. My first EDF. Used an old Spektrum receiver with no SAFE or AS3X. What a blast!! Impressive low speed stability. Spent the first battery getting used to landing it (SOP for me with a new plane). A beast on high rates, a pussycat on low. Awesome especially for the cost.

This plane is super easy flying, and love that it's NOT 6S. There's a lot of people who want jet action, and can't afford $185 lipos to make a 3-4 minute flight...so this is a GREAT option!!!

I was reading where a couple guys had noticed a video for this I think from HH, they said they got to around .15 of the video and it stopped playing. They were saying they thought the video was not supposed to be released yet and therefore it was stopping after a short time. Now I see a day later you are showcasing the same jet!

Have to say after installing a Spektrum 70amp ESC going to 4s power wow 😯 what a totally different flying experience. Still very behaved slow cruise or crank it up watch it scream by my only complaint is I didn’t order an Avian so I lost thrust reverse. I do have a 45amp ESC Spektrum on the way may throw it in so reverse is back so fun landing that way. Love the videos guys keep them coming. BTW I’m using a Spektrum 4s 2200 50c fits like a glove

I’ve been flying planes and jets for about 8 years now and found your channel about two weeks ago, man great stuff! Very content and informative. I’ve been flying the Blue Angels F-18 for a few months now, and was wondering what position you keep the elevators in? First flight was very nose heavy so pushed the 5,000 100c battery all the way back! But still can’t get the level flight like it should. Great videos !

Welcome aboard! Glad you're here with us, but to be frank, I haven't flown the Blue Angels F-18 for some time, so I can't remember - real sorry about that Thomas. Did we talk about it in the videos??? P.S. 100C is a MUST on that battery eater. Wish I could get a higher than 100C for it...it was the first EDF that would puff a smart pack for me.

@@BrianPhillipsRC I have the a version 2 x64mm too. Love that thing. Only draw back is the pilot fatigue does not seem as efficient as my other jets with pilot fatigue (Viper 90mm and Habu SS). The umx is great for bad weather days, especially on days I don't want drag out the big planes. Fortunately I have an RC field with a paved runway only 5 minutes away.

I think this is a great plane for those new to EDF's. It's also a lot cheaper to own and fly than the 70mm, since you're not dealing with 6S...but the 6S makes it a whole lot more impressive!!!

Brian, could you please tell me to best of your knowledge an better time frame date on when I will be able to actually get this in my hands. As I'm sure you're aware, this is currently still on pre-order. Horizons website is the only one I have found showing a "next delivery date August 2022" which I'm not mad about them keeping it a bit vague. However I am aware that you have friends in high places and connects in probably more places than I could imagine. With that being said was hoping you may be able to provide a bit of insight on a more dialed in date then just a broad month being August according to horizon. The anticipation is killing me LMAO! I understand if you do not honestly know or have knowledge any more than us standard consumers like myself currently have but it would mean the world to me for you to let me know whether through one way or another you do or don't have a better time frame I need this bird man! I just need this freaking bird ‼️💯💯💯💯💯
@BrianPhillipsRC
@BrianPhillipsRC Жыл бұрын
Justin, In my experience, when they say August, the quicker you order, the more likely you'll be in the FIRST shipment...which is what they mean by "August". As I understand it, the containers are coming over "on time" as compared to last year...so if it says August, you should be okay to order, if August is acceptable for your timeline. Also, if I DID know, I would be bound NOT to say, if it were not allowed, but this sort of thing is okay to speak about ;) we do have an NDA with HH...since we hear about some stuff years in advance. Most of the time we hear about it a few weeks ahead of shipment, but other times, we'll be waiting for years....like with the F-14 40mm Twin - it's been killing me since before COVID.

Not that bad...it's light and it's made of foam ;) EDF's are heavy in the middle of the body, so there would be a nice cushion

What is a "corn hole." I've heard you say this in multiple videos and I have no idea what you are talking about.

You could injure someone with that thing. I wish I had safe in my real cessna 150 Sure is a pretty time there. I would have to land it on the road.

LOL - I'm sure YOU could Tim - LOL If you want to get some HUGE servos, I could help you setup "semi-auto-pilot" in your plane ;)

Amazing jet🤌🏾 I am looking into getting the habu sts 4s rtf and since I don't have a radio that will bind to other rc planes because the planes that I have came with their own radios unfortunately they're only compatible with each other so the radio that comes with the habu rtf is able to bind to other rc planes however I kinda want a radio with a screen on it and preferably 7 channels minimum in case I want "flapereons" or "leds" what would be a great radio without spending 400 bucks?

I have a suggestion. If you want to do any of that stuff, get a couple RTF's and enjoy the heck out of them, but don't plan on "saving" money - you won't. You'll make it 2 planes MAYBE..trust me, I did it too. If you want to fly planes, you will get a programmable Tx sooner than later, BUT you should work your plan, knowing that you'll be wasting the few planes radio systems getting from where you are now to where you'd really like to be. It is kinda part of the process. If you want to make the smartest move, and you are 100% sure you'll be in the hobby for a few years, get an NX8 or better ( Tx bit.ly/3J05xSj ) and then just buy the Habu SS 50 (cheaper to fly, and own, but equally cool to fly, but better than the STS due to thrust reverse). I get it though, do the math. Find the best value, and then extract ever ounce of value out of every plane. This is the best way to do it, and the way I did it when I started. If you follow my advice, you'll be 2-3 planes, and better off. You will spend less and have better planes, and better experience. Remember that when you're NEW, you'll want to shop by what battery the plane uses, to keep your cost down...so you can also consider a good charger when you're brand new as well... it seems kinda crazy, but you will buy something like this anyway, but if you follow my advice, you will spend less in the first year or two than the average RC pilot. Start with an S155 (Cheap and still SMART), then as soon as you're ready for 6S, you can just right up to the S2200, and don't screw around and throw away a bunch of your hard earned money on a bunch of cheaper garbage chargers...been there, done that! 1) S155 bit.ly/3KB3HH6 2) S1400 bit.ly/3rKYt3l (Single Channel) OR 2) S2200 bit.ly/398ohO6 (Dual Channel) Then don't forget to make financial plans to buy a hundred dollars or more for the first few months on glues, connectors, and heat shrink, and all this type of thing as you need it. It will be bought, so don't hesitate. Soldering Irons, and hot glue guns, and this sort of thing. If you do the hobby for 2-3 years minimum, you will thank me. If you're going to be a "one and done", which I doubt, then you will be well served with a "RTF" plane as a proof of concept. You will figure out just how hooked you've become, and then you can adjust the budget to work out the painful beginning of the habit. Good luck, and remember we're here to help you along the way.

@@BrianPhillipsRC thanks alot for the advice man👍🏾yeah I have been in the rc hobby for over 30 years mostly land vehicles and got my first plane several years ago but never really flew it much but now I'm wanting to get a plane back in the air lol I fly fpv quadcopters so now I'm neglecting my land rc's lol I definitely am going to be flying planes alot more now so I want a good radio that I don't have to worry about upgrading any time soon so I think the nx 8 will be perfect 👍🏾and I definitely want to be able to run the same lipos on different planes so I don't have to change connectors....I definitely see your point about the different cells because I will be able to run my 4s lipos on a 6s jet as well so they won't go to waste 😁 I have a few 3s lipos that I have for my old and very cool sensei fs I love the heck outta this plane it was my first bigger plane and sense it is the only plane I have seen with cargo drop doors I fly it for my son and his friends to drop army paratroopers they love it😁 I recently bought the arrows pioneer it's a great little flyer but I'm wanting more aerobatics so the umx timber x is next on my list 👍🏾but now I want an edf there are a few on my list but the habu is number one for its easy to learn capabilities the 4s was my choice because of the radio like I said but what your saying is the best and more feasible route 👍🏾 and I most definitely want to have reverse thrust.... once I get my tx and jet and get some hours under my belt then it's on to my e-flite f 16 and viper🙏🏽😁 I really appreciate the feedback and help alot man thanks for your time this is also another reason why I love the hobby so much because of guys like you that are always willing to take the time to help out guys like myself👍🏾 and I'm officially a sub man take care happy and safe flying✌🏾
