Today I tried to fly my brand-new FW200, and every time I went to lift off, the durn thing abruptly pitched forward and CRASHED! I examined it (not knowing what I was looking for) and found one of the tiny white plugs-ins was unplugged, just hanging there. It was the one nearest the front of the heli on the right side. Anyway, I plugged it back in. When I went to lift off again, it flew great. Up and down, back and forth, fast and slow until it began beeping, then I landed. I had a good time.

Great video! I didn't think I'd be interested in Sailplanes because I love my TTE and P51 1.1m but your video changed my mind! Are there any pros or cons worth to be mentioned when comparing the upcoming ElectroStreak with the (much older?) Conscendo Evolution that I should consider before buying?

Great entertaining review as always. Product commentary: The tight tight battery and electronics bay is ridiculous. Changing batteries shouldn't be so painful and doesn't need to be.
@BrianPhillipsRC12 сағат бұрын
yes, but to the plane's defense, after we got the wires moved around, and LEFT the strap closed on itself, it made the re-loading of a 2nd battery quite a bit easier. Also, the foam is so strong, it didn't tear the heck out of the plane when we were loading, something that has been an issue with other lesser planes of the past ;) As typical, some imperfections are unavoidable, but yeah it would be amazing if it was as easy as slide it into a pocket, like the T-28 1.1m, but that plane doesn't go 130+ MPH ;)

Ive been flying rc since '78. Mainly helis. Ive never heard of Pot and Boom...??? Too bad this is an overpriced toy drone, it looks amazing.
@BrianPhillipsRC12 сағат бұрын
Pod and Boom - I hadn't either until I heard it from one of the most involved rc heli mfg agents in the usa. I probably said it wrong, or used it wrong in a sentence, since I hadn't previously used that terminology either. As I hear and learn thing in RC Heli realm, I'm trying to adapt to using the most correct terminology and technical jargon, but I have been known to make mistakes too, being human and all.

@@BrianPhillipsRC Its all good Brian, you are very humble, which is unlike some 'RCsailors' out there. I love watching your complete videos. Your wife is a saint and always polite. My pro sponsored heli friends at our flying field (Buder Park St. Louis) never used that term Pod and boom, it just confused me. I also hope the drone helis keep people into helis. Nitro is coming back lately, I just picked up a 700n Align, two tricked out Raptors and a XL Power Nimbus 550 Nitro. Let see some nitro planes please!

This reminds me of the V1200.. which I never saw again after I looked down for a second 😂
@BrianPhillipsRC11 сағат бұрын
The V1200 was FASSSST, but I preferred the V900, since it was assumed to be a belly lander...the V1200 had super thin retracts, and gave some people issue, I think, that couldn't make 110% perfect landings 100% of the time - like me ;) This plane has the look and feel of Warmliners. It's very good, but I think some will want the older, but still very good Conscendo Evo, since I think the market for Warmliners/Hotliners is still kinda small. Either way, I hope you decide to get your hands on one, even if it's borrowing it at the field for a single flight - then you'll want one to take home ;) bprc.me/ElectroStreak

Thank you, Brian, to you and your wife! You need to give her a plane, you take the camera, and video her as she flies!

We've done that a few times. She kinda hates when I do it without asking first, but she gets in her own head, and causes herself to make stupid mistakes, BUT she CAN and DOES fly. She doesn't have the strong desire to fly, but I'm so proud of her for being capable of doing it. It's pretty hot, having a wife that knows how to fly RC, I think ;)

@BrianPhillipsRC11 сағат бұрын
yeah! She's a keeper too. I really like when the planes do what they say they're going to do, instead of pretending to be a "trainer" or "bellylander" with a million things to rip off on flight number one with perfect landing...there's a lot of that going around right now. I long for the RC days when all the foam is like this - it's SOOOO dang strong. It's something else...and maybe I'm just misremembering, but I think the V1200/V900 would be similar, but not as good. This thing is STOUT, and I think of the planes that would be better with this stiff, strong foam...granted, they might not take some of the abuse that we like to throw at them, the flight performance would be HUGE ;) Hope you get one ;) bprc.me/ElectroStreak

Hi Brian, need your opinion please. I just got me a freewing F-15 90mm jet and trying to install an A3 Super 4 gyro. Only readily avail position is on the ply shelf above the nose-gear, of course this puts the gyro some 15" forward of the CG. Do you foresee any real issues with this installation?
@BrianPhillipsRC11 сағат бұрын
I highly doubt you'll have any issues. If you do, SHUT IT OFF, land her, and figure out a move. The A3 DOES Ask to be at the center of gravity, if I recall, and the A3 is a VERY GOOD gyro, in my personal experience, but I don't think I've had the SUPER...fyi... I tend to think that on the pitch axis, if you're along the center of the plane, you will be mostly good. Sometimes as you make a 2 axis move, you might experience a tiny bit of yaw and roll resistance, but I DOUBT you'll feel it. That's a big plane...but 15" is a long ways from the center, right??? I don't have any 90mm freewing planes

It is really good! After playing with it for a while, my only technical issue is the scoop on the front of the nose...it's gonna get dirty, and LED's would help a lot for orientation, this time of year when the trees make the plane disappear, but what a GREAT air frame, and power system. Does what it says it does, and does it really well!!! bprc.me/ElectroStreak

Would it be possible for you to talk a bit more about how the Yu Xiang helicopters differ from eachother? How optical flow sensor, gps and gyro compare etc
@BrianPhillipsRC11 сағат бұрын
We kinda do that, but I know there's sometimes more I could share. What was the part I missed for you on this one? Ohhh, wait - might have seen what you meant...after re-reading it a couple times... Optical Flow is inferior to GPS, but a lot cheaper. It only helps to hold a left/right/forward/back position in hover, and sometimes it's used to help detect the ground while landing (if equipped with auto land type feature) GPS is usually the better, but more money, where it holds a pretty absolute position, BUT if you fly under a bridge, you can lose that, then it'll drift, but still auto level because... BOTH types are equipped with a flight controller, that acts as a STABILIZER, and most also auto-level the heli when you're off the sticks. This is the feature that makes heli's so dang easy to fly, but one of the two above features will help supplement the being BLOWN off course from wind. This feature is called a GYRO by a lot of people, but it's not always a GYRO, since it's a 3 and/or 6 axis stabilizer and flight controller. If we call a heli a "GPS Heli-Drone" that's the easiest ones to fly, but they're super pricey too...like $550-1350 for our current batch of helis...while the "Optical Flow Sensor" only a bit more pricey than the stripped down RC Era style $100 helis...which are still VERY GOOD, and some do have optical flow. I think optical flow has enough issues that it can border with being useless, depending on how you like to fly, but same could be true for GPS, if you fly under a lot of stuff, or indoors. If you fly indoors, optical flow may be all you really want...if you want more than a 3 and/or 6 axis stabilizer and flight controller.

Disconnect them all. Plug in ONE, and move the aileron stick (OR flap switch) and see what happens. KNOW what you're plugging into. Then plug in one more, and use process of elimination, until you know. Then start landing cables. This is not something super easy to "Walk you through", since I'll have no feedback on what you find. You can fix it. Just start answering the questions. One at a time. You'll get it in like 5 minutes.
