ADJ Starburst - Non-DMX Operation & Menu Help

Thank you Brian. I don't think I could have figured this out without your video. You made understanding the manual easier. There are some quirky things about the menu. You would think with all the technology available ADJ would have engineers that know how to simply the process. We in Naive land appreciate when your videos explain it in a way most of us can get it.

Hey Brian. update from me: I now own 2 of them which I will place on totems. Awesome. What I find frustrating (as a beginner) is the fact that all ADJ manuals of fixtures I own are actually lacking of details. I either have to contact their support (they are ever so helpful) or try to find videos where you for example explain a menu of another ADJ-fixture and from there I try to bring this info into my trouble-some new fixture. E.g. I could not synchronize 2 ADJ washes. They simply ran out of phase. With your vid about 2 ADJ-scans I was able to solve it. And I learn. To make it short: could you pls publish more vids about an individual menu-setting of current fixtures like you did here about the Starburst. That would really make our day out here. With a BIG thank you in advance.

Great posting - thanks! I've just taken delivery of one of these, but the instruction manual doesn't cover the second half of this video at all regarding motor speeds and colour choosing/mixing. Ace!

I think the whole concept needs to be redesigned to achieve a more compact updated mirror ball effect. Maybe something with a scanner. ADJ seem to have difficulty changing there basic lighting shells and opt with just updating components inside I think eventually this will lose them business.

Hi Brian. This vid was very useful when I first setup this fixture, so many thanks. Is it usual when looking at the "dots" displaying on the wall to have some solid dots (red, yellow, green) and others that are simply a bunch of different colours within the one dot? I can see that these will be the components to make up the particular colour, but I was surprised that would be the result on the wall. The ball looks the correct colour, so is it the case that the ball and the beams (if seen in haze) are the main effect, and all the wall dots are not supposed to be solid colours. I'm not able to use haze very often, so the wall is all I see most of the time. Just wondered in case it wasn't working correctly. Thanks for your time. Ian Price.

I just received my light this morning. Tried it out in my living room for about half an hour and it made our stomach sick from the fast pace and zoom effect. Anyone else ever felt this?

Hey Brian I seemed to have stumble upon a way to program the "Auto" Mode. Because now when I start up and go to A001 it defaults to a slow rotating reversing mode. I could be wrong and I don't know exactly what I did because I was experimenting with the controls. I will contact ADJ to see if I did or did not.

Dose this come with the UC-IR remote ? ADJ should just make all their lights with the the little remote.

That thing looks clumsy and heavy. I think it is a little impractical especially for mobile DJs

Hello Brian, great video and product! Is it possible to use the ADJ Starburst with a UC-IR remote Controller? Thinking to purchase it but since I am not using a DMX controller it will be really difficult to control it and change speeds/colors. Thank you, Kyriacos

Hey Brian. I plan to hang this in the middle of an ice skating rink and setting it to be sound activated. After doing so, there is no easy way to get access to it. Also, at this time I don't plan to use DMX but that could change in the future. My 2 questions are: 1) Can this be mounted upside down and hung from the ceiling? 2) Does it remember the last setting you programed it for after you turn it off and back on? Thanks in advance.

Hi Brian. Thx from a big fan from Germany. What I notice when watching your vids is some kind of background noise. Same here in this vid: now is this your air-conditioning system of your house or is this this appliance itself?-- I went to a big store in Germany and refrained from buying moving heads as they very unacceptable noisy and only bearable with loud music around.
