Perfect time to tune up the turntables. Thanks for the video Brian. How about a video on how to clean & polish/shine up the platter where the dots are. Djs use their fingers on them to beat match to slow down the platter a tad. Mine are all grimy. Iol.

Never do in patches as demonstrated here. Full strokes from side to side. Much better finish. Cheers 🍻

Wrong again, use swirling motions the same as on a car finish.

I’d be concerned at all the action going on while the lids are connected to the decks, relying on the fact your rubber feet on the covers edge are going to stop the cover from rubbing and scratching the deck itself. My 2c, remove the lid first and do as seen here without the lid on the actual turntable so all that pressure and polishing action doesn’t affect the deck surface under the edges of the dust cover.

I recently bought two Technics SL 1200MKII turntables with original hood dust covers. I followed your video on using the products you used. My questions is what an the curing process is done what do you do then?, do you buff the hood with a Terry cloth?
@coreygraft79910 ай бұрын
Microfiber only. give it a big old buff with the dry cloth.

3:03. Dude I literally passed away when I saw you take DRY sandpaper to a beautiful vintage table. NEVER dry sand your plastics. Even the cheap headlight restoration kits with sandpaper are adamant about always WET sanding. You will eventually heat up the plastic and melt it with too much friction using the dry method. eek.

Only use sand paper on deep scratches. Too much bad advice in the comments here. There are better videos on cleaning dust covers. Use Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 and a terry towel then follow with a cotton cloth. You can also use microfiber cloths. Don't press too hard or you can make more scratches. Let the polish do the work.
@josephrich35098 ай бұрын
Because Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 works better than the product you are recommending.

Sanding is also dangerous or using an orbital buffer. All can damage the dust cover further. There are better videos on YT for cleaning dust covers. This one is crap.
