THIS is the video I've been waiting on... seeing how my Thorogood boots are constructed, and how they might look with some Roll Club love applied to them. I'm thinking, white cork, oiled leather (no dye), a little taller on the heel than you did on these, and, m'be some leather lining on the inside of the toe box. I'm not a big fan of the fabric lining, it doesn't last like leather does. Nice work there, young man.

I love thorogood boots. Their my favorite work boot. I have a little over 3 yrs on a pair (8” moc toe) just like these in the oilfield. They are comfortable right out of the box and the sole has lasted this whole time. But I will say they never came anywhere close to looking this good. This video makes me want to buy a new pair and send them straight to California and have Brian throw some of his magic on them. Thank you very much for sharing resole videos. When i was rooky in russian army, it was summer of 2004, we had to change heels by ourselves. We had to learn it at one night using only hammer and iron thing which placed into boot and we called it paw. No one teached us and it was almost panic. Btw, we had few nails and nobody told us to find some, we could do it earlier, ahaha. At the morning we all had changed heels. Funny now, but then it wasn't so, lol. And ofcourse we had only two paw and two hammer for 120 young men 😂 Heels of soviet army boot have 11 holes for nails. If i'm not wrong. Watching your videos i'm learning to do same, want to make and repair if it's needful boots for myself and my beautiful people :) You do great job! Greetings from Russia.

I sure wouldn't mind a resole like this on my plain toe thorogood 814's when the time comes. The 814 is definitely underrated in the boot community, first and foremost a diehard work boot but they look great and a resole like this really sets them off. Love these boots, they're so comfortable and that max wear wedge is harder wearing than a vibram cristi wedge. Those moc toes aren't bad looking but I definitely prefer a round toe. Redwing and chippewa don't even seem to offer an 8" wedge sole plain toe. and thorogood really seems to offer a bit more in a $200 boot than anyone else. Goodyear double seam storm welt, faster break in period, harder wearing outsole, what's not to like.
@ianturnbow70114 жыл бұрын
The thinner leather, loose grain, and lower quality leather compared to other moc toe boots made in the U.S. has put me on standby for buying moc toe boots. How would you compare these to the Danner Bull Run and Red Wing 8” moc toe? The consensus seems to be Red Wing for leather quality and street wear, Thorogood for actual work, and Danner as the side option.

These brakes are for the hoist and drag cable drums.. Only lfat bottom "Wedge" Soles work for me.. I must have a sole like what was on the Thorogood origionally ..
