I believe it's the complacency effect of 250 years of democracy (for most, but shamefully not all) that has, until now, permitted people to vote for whomever they wish (or not vote at all) without having to worry about losing democracy come next January. I have said this before and it bears repeating now. To all those who may be negatively affected by the ongoing voter suppression campaigns across the country , my advice is find/grab your voter registration card and your personal picture ID (drivers license ect.) and then show up at the polls on election day and demand your right to vote and do not leave until you are allowed to vote. I have looked up judges who are seeking to be retained. Yet these judges don't have their party affiliation by their names on the ballot. So I made my business to find their party affiliation and I have a list. I know I can't trust republicans so I now know who I will say "no" to. I have to mention this: Id visited my aunt who's in her 80s and of course I started on the topic of voting. She mentioned she'd watched the debate, but somehow ended up watching Fox "news" not long after and she'd mentioned how physically ill she felt after a few minutes of their biased insults, bullying and verbal abuse of anybody having a different opinion. That day I shared this KZbin channel, Democracy Docket, MTN & Legal AF. My aunt was exceedingly grateful to know that there is actually truth & fact based content available. I am a Precinct Election Official in Ohio and we have had de-escalation training for the coming election. This was new. I worked the primary and there were a few people who were going off about thinking their vote didn't count. This one already feels different, they know there are groups mobilizing to make the elections difficult. I will serve regardless and do my part to ensure a free and fair election and watch democracy continue.

From my mother - I just filled out my ballot which I will hand deliver to the registrar's office soon. I took photos of the ballot and the envelope B that I filled out for verification. Thought I should encourage other mail-in ballot voters to TAKE PHOTOS, in light of these nefarious efforts to disenfranchise voters w/a myriad of petty reasons to do so!
