Little bit of extra info on Hisagi (he's probably my favorite lieutenant of the entire cast): You probably noticed them showing all the other squad members reacting to Hisagi's shikai, it's kind of a serious moment. He willingly never uses his zanpakuto's shikai for the reasons that he stated: it looks like it's built for taking life and he doesn't find that enjoyable (also fun to note that Tosen being his captain made a big deal of following the path of "least bloodshed") - he made sure to train in all the areas of a shinigami (kido, shunpo, swordsmanship, hakuda) so that he never had to use his shikai in the first place, which is why he spent so long just straight up fighting Mr. Exacta without releasing. Everyone recognizes that he's extremely skilled, but he doesn't enjoy fighting and killing and only does so as a last resort. I think of all the lieutenants, he seems the most mature and responsible and really respects his position as lieutenant.

@@secondubly In the novel starring Hisagi *Can't Fear Your Own World* he tells us something curious about the Bankais, and that is that the energy they transmit when they are active also transmit a kind of "feeling" that is felt by those who are nearby. For example, Kyoraku's transmits a feeling of *Melancholy* and Kenpachi's transmits something similar to *Adrenaline* And in the case of Hisagi it is unique because only with his SHIKAI he already transmits something, which in his case is described as a feeling of *Death*

Hisagi's Shikai, Kazeshini, is probably top 5 best and most impressive in the entire show ! It's fast, strong, spectacular, the sound it makes when it cuts and move is glorious...even if it's middle to close range it's still versatile. It's worthy of a Soul Reaper !! Hisagi himself is also top of the Lieutenant, the most complete one...a lot like Kaien Shiba was ! He seems as good with a sword than Kidou, Hado and flash step and that zanpakuto sure help !! I only see the lieutenant of squad 1 being better...

Shuhei Shikai is the closer symbol of Shinigami aka Soul reaper.

If I'm not mistaken, Shuhei has one of the only three existing dual swords (the other two being Captain Shunsui's Katen Kyokotsu and Captain Ukitake's Sogyo no Kotowori). But Shuhei only gets to use it on Shikai unlike the other two that is already two in base form.

Wrong. Spoilers: None of them are (kinda). Hisagi's real shikai is his chains, not the scythes. Shunsui uses two zanpakutous, one from Nanao. And I guess you can argue that Ukitake's dual wield was a by-product of being mimihagi's vessel. The only 'true' dual wield zanpakutou is Ichigo's.

One of the few things that always irritates me is the captain komamura vs the whale arrancar adaptation. In the Manga, captain komamura's bankai cast it's shadow over the arrancar and completely dwarfed him. There wasn't a clash of the titans, just one swing, and the whale went down. It made the conversation with Iba and ikkaku much more pointed. Really missed that in the anime.

Actually the animation takes an upgrade from this point onwards in general not just for the one episode. Of course hardly anything is animated as well as hisagi vs findorr but even the komamura fight was animated better than most stuff before now. Ever since the vizard flashback the animation stepped up. It sucks not every fight can be animated like the hisagi one though. The schedule was too tight and not enough budget for long running shows. Just like in naruto and one piece. There are actually some fights in the filler arcs that are even better than hisagi fight. But i still recommend skipping filler. You can come back after you catch up to watch them. I don't know why they animated fillers so well they should save that for the canon fights.
