That was really cool my friend. Those staccato bass lines playing with great funky feel makes it all! Enjoyed watching and listening. Well played. 👍

Thank you, my friend! I agree - the ghost notes add to the funk. Great old school song.

Super nicely done as always. Happy Easter season! I think it's cool that there are still some comments from 7 years ago still up. I know it's always cool to see old comments on videos

@@oldskoolgroove Yes! I know what you mean. When I look at comments from 5-10 years ago it's kind of bittersweet as none of my 2012-2016 viewers and very few of my 2017-2018 viewers are still around at all.

Funky funky funky groove! You played extremely well Oldskool! I first heard of this song through Kid n Play's sample of it. You definitely had the groove going with your playing! Another great vid!! Keep the groove!!

+DaBassLady Covers Thanks DBL! Yeah, I remember hearing their version too...good stuff. Hip-hop helped keep a lot of old-school songs alive. You keep groovin' too!

One of my favorite basslines in a song. I am trying to learn to play it still.

Indeed. Once you learn the basic riff, it's just a lot of different variations. Great bassline.

like mcDonald's, i'm lovin' it! lovin' the phantom notes that adds groovy flava to the pocket. i know you've used it before but i'm just noticing how compact and light that bass looks....nice!
@oldskoolgroove9 жыл бұрын
+Zrocs1 Thanks Z! The drummer in me definitely loves the ghost notes. Your perceptions about this bass are correct - it's a regular scale bass like my others but it is the lightest and has the slimmest neck. OTOH, my P bass is the heaviest with the thickest neck, but it's probably my favorite. On a different note, it has been a minute since you put up some covers...time to get busy, bro. ;-)

+oldskool groove yeah bro, the pc i use for utube gave me the blues so i had to put it in the shop. i'm using a mac for communication but i can't upload videos because it won't accept my camera's files (apple don't like to play ball with others). so i've been spending a lot of time (and money) on my other passions (hometheater and stereo's).
@oldskoolgroove9 жыл бұрын
+Zrocs1 I see...yes, your other passions can be quite expensive. Gotta get that pc back ASAP.

Picked up the 504 just over 2 weeks ago, having already possessed the TRBX174EW. I must say I really enjoy switching between the 2 when playing various styles of music, as the difference in tones is quite noticeable.
